The referee ignored U21 Denmark's protests and gave Anders Dannervig a yellow card for diving instead. After 86 played minutes U21 Denmark got a freekick which was hit by Anders Dannervig. In the 88th minute, Elam Vicioso made a precise shot to the right of Karsten Jersov. U21 Denmark's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-3. In the 91st minute of the match Sigfried Kastrupsen shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Emilio Montealegre showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When the final whistle went the supporters of U21 Denmark were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant U21 Costa Rica side.
