An unexpectedly hard shot by Ian Hook in the 10th minute of play forced Montenegro's goalkeeper Koča Pantić to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sid Lane took the ball and in the 12 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Koča Pantić. Koča Pantić dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Sid Lane might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Koča Pantić. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sid Lane ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 16th match minute, Montenegro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jadranko Ćirović to maneuver through the defense. 23 minutes into the match, Andorra's goal looked a bit too open when Radoman Kaluđerović came free, but Terry Cusack reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 28th minute Montenegro were awarded a corner. Pujo Drobnjaković went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Pujo Drobnjaković almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Andorra's Terry Cusack did a great save. The supporters of Andorra booed when Montenegro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Darijo Brđanin didn't get a good kick on the ball. 33 minutes into the match, Montenegro's goal looked a bit too open when Albert Trueman came free, but Koča Pantić reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 35th minute, Sid Lane left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Andorra fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. After a rather tough play, Montenegro's Dražen Rastoder got a free kick in the 41st minute. Koča Pantić took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Colin Stayton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

Slobodan Nišavić hit a great freekick 50 minutes into the match. Montenegro's Koča Pantić proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save Montenegro from getting a goal against them. 60 minutes into the match, Jadranko Ćirović had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Terry Cusack. Andorra's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jadranko Ćirović was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. The crowd rose to their feet as Andorra's Sid Lane slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Koča Pantić. That made the score 1-4 after 65 minutes of play. Andorra made a substitution. Frank Briant replaced Lance Chivers. Montenegro's Veljo Kralj was substituted for Radoman Kaluđerović. Montenegro's Koča Pantić played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Albert Trueman in the 71st minute of play. Jadranko Ćirović received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Terry Cusack tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Koča Pantić was out of position in the 75 minute of play, and Sid Lane capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Sid Lane really showed his touch with that goal: 1-5. Koča Pantić stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Albert Trueman's shot from short distance in the 80th minute. 86 minutes into the match, Montenegro's Dražen Rastoder sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Terry Cusack narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Andorra booed when Montenegro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pujo Drobnjaković didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ian Hook could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Koča Pantić made a huge save. After 93 minutes of play, Montenegro's Arsenije Laličić made it 2-6 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Terry Cusack was left in no man's land by his defense there! The Andorra players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
