Scotland's players were relieved. In the 9th minute Innes McKnight shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fábio Lopes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Brazil fans' excitement grew in the 13th match minute when Brazil's Nicolas Vargas looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Nicolas Vargas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Adrian McKinning made a huge save. 15 minutes into the game, Nicolas Vargas recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Adrian McKinning. Nicolas Vargas showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. Nicolas Vargas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Adrian McKinning having to make a save. 18 minutes into the match, Scotland's goalkeeper Adrian McKinning had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nicolas Vargas. 20 minutes into the match, Brazil's Adrianinho Corrêa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Adrian McKinning narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Nicolas Vargas scored 3-0 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Adrian McKinning, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Júlio Vianna kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Fábio Lopes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Innes McKnight, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nicolas Vargas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Adrian McKinning made a huge save. Adrianinho Corrêa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Adrian McKinning read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. Adrian McKinning showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adrianinho Corrêa in the 37th minute of the match. Fábio Lopes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from David McLergain, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. When Brazil's Nicolas Vargas in the 40th minute got a chance for a shot 40th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Scotland's goalie prevented a goal. Nicolas Vargas spun around in front of the goal 40 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Scotland's goal. Brazil's Nicolas Vargas got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 48 minutes into the game, Brazil's Nicolas Vargas nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Adrian McKinning made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 6-0.

Nicolas Vargas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Adrian McKinning having to make a save. Scotland's Adrian McKinning played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicolas Vargas in the 56th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nicolas Vargas in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Adrian McKinning prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Brazil's Nicolas Vargas in the 62nd minute got a chance for a shot 62nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Scotland's goalie prevented a goal. Scotland's Adrian McKinning played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicolas Vargas in the 64th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nicolas Vargas in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Adrian McKinning saved Scotland from getting behind. When Brazil's Nicolas Vargas in the 68th minute got a chance for a shot 68th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Scotland's goalie prevented a goal. Brazil's Dedê Fernandez was substituted for Nicolas Vargas. In the 70th minute Brazil were awarded a corner. André Ferreira went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Brazil's André Ferreira to fire away a dangerous shot which Adrian McKinning despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Manfredo Passos took the ball and in the 79 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Adrian McKinning. Adrian McKinning dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-0. Manfredo Passos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Adrian McKinning made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manfredo Passos in the 82nd minute of play. The audience was convinced that Manfredo Passos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Adrian McKinning was relentless in the 87th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Manfredo Passos in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Adrian McKinning saved Scotland from getting behind. Adrian McKinning showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manfredo Passos in the 90th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Scotland defense, Manfredo Passos kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Adrian McKinning. The Scotland fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Adrian McKinning should have stopped the shot.
