Säyid Qädimov's late challenge caught a U21 Albania's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Säyid Qädimov helped the player get up and apologised. In the 9th minute, Säyid Qädimov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mahmud Aydinov during the 17th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Säyid Abdasov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mirel Kuli in the 23rd minute of play. Säyid Abdasov didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Migen Margjeka went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Olgert Marku made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mehran Näcäfov in the 31st minute. Seyfäddin Zeynalov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. After 39 played minutes U21 Azerbaijan got a freekick which was hit by Qarakişi Alahyarov. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mirel Kuli in the 40th minute of play forced U21 Azerbaijan's goalkeeper Säyid Abdasov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 42 minutes, Mirel Kuli made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. U21 Azerbaijan's Säyid Abdasov tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

U21 Albania's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
