With a couple of smart ball manuevers William Jarrett in the 10th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dino Foni saved U21 Italy from getting behind. Jo Barone hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. William Jarrett sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Dino Foni made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from William Jarrett in the 19th minute of play. 20 minutes into the match, U21 Italy's goal looked a bit too open when William Jarrett came free, but Dino Foni reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. U21 United States's Neal Messer was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Dino Foni in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 24th minute, William Jarrett left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The U21 United States fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in U21 Italy's zone, William Jarrett stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dino Foni came out of the goal and William Jarrett tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Neal Messer kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. Kyle Robinson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ciccio Celli, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Jo Barone in the 47thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Kyle Robinson, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The U21 Italy players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. U21 United States were winning 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jo Barone to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Jo Barone got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A.J. R. An unexpectedly hard shot by Randall Ledford in the 74th minute of play forced U21 Italy's goalkeeper Dino Foni to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pasquale Leone scored 1-1 in the 82nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Kyle Robinson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 85th minute the ball was on its way in behind U21 United States's goalkeeper Kyle Robinson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Randall Ledford got free with Dino Foni in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
