Pirmin Lizaso made an important save on a dangerous shot by Clemente das Neves in the 3rd minute. Brazil's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Giovani Paulista in the 5th minute. A very nice done corner allowed Naldo Alvarenga to score against Pirmin Lizaso in Colombia's goal. 1-0 after 5 minutes. In the 9th minute of the match Colombia got a corner. Brazil's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ulizes Astorgano ran over to the corner to take the kick. Colombia's Ulizes Astorgano was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Luiz Paulo Moreno in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Xian Matute in the 11th minute of play forced Brazil's goalkeeper Luiz Paulo Moreno to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 15 played minutes Colombia got a freekick which was hit by Rolando Lavega. In the 16th minute, Xian Matute ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Luiz Paulo Moreno was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Luiz Paulo Moreno showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Xian Matute in the 19th minute of the match. Brazil's Luiz Paulo Moreno played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bastiaro Atencio in the 23rd minute of play. 24 minutes into the match, Brazil's goal looked a bit too open when Xian Matute came free, but Luiz Paulo Moreno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pirmin Lizaso was a little too slow when Clemente das Neves got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 30th minute. The score was now 2-1. Pirmin Lizaso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Samuel Maia, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. With an all-out effort, Brazil's Pirmin Lizaso threw himself towards the right post 47 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Samuel Maia, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

Brazil made a substitution. Fabrício Peixoto replaced Samuel Maia. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bastiaro Atencio to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Colombia's zone, Fabrício Peixoto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pirmin Lizaso came out of the goal and Fabrício Peixoto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 60th minute, Fabrício Peixoto ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pirmin Lizaso was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. Luiz Paulo Moreno made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Xian Matute sent off a good shot on target. If Bastiaro Atencio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a little luck, Brazil's Luiz Paulo Moreno got control of the ball when Xian Matute tried to sneak it across the goal line. Brazil's Luiz Paulo Moreno played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Xian Matute in the 74th minute of play. If Bastiaro Atencio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 82 minutes into the match, Colombia's goal looked a bit too open when Fabrício Peixoto came free, but Pirmin Lizaso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pirmin Lizaso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabrício Peixoto in the 82nd minute of the match. 86 minutes into the match, Brazil's goalkeeper Luiz Paulo Moreno had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Xian Matute. Fabrício Peixoto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luiz Paulo Moreno took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bastiaro Atencio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gláuber Saraiva hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Mateus Cruz charged in rather forcefully in the 95th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mateus Cruz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 95th minute, Mateus Cruz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Brazil were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Colombia for a fine match.
