Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Giovani Paulista during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 4 played minutes Brazil got a freekick which was hit by Gláuber Saraiva. After some careless play in the Spain defense, Naldo Alvarenga kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Enric Vila. The Spain fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Enric Vila should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Samuel Maia in the 10th minute of play forced Spain's goalkeeper Enric Vila to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Enric Vila showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Clemente das Neves, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Naldo Alvarenga in the 13th minute of play forced Spain's goalkeeper Enric Vila to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Brazil eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
