In the 19th minute, Joonas Leinapaju left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Estonia fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Brennan Dunne came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by Estonia's Meelis Mihklisaar. But to his dismay, Meelis Mihklisaar quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. If Joonas Leinapaju had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 41st minute Riivo Ristik shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brennan Dunne saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Clarence Seedorf came free with the goalkeeper in the 45th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Tanel Raidur could save by the left post. The Ireland players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Estonia were winning 0-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Meelis Mihklisaar was the one to do the kick off. Hendrik Teinemaa might have been able to make a better finish in the 51st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Brennan Dunne. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hendrik Teinemaa ran back to his position shaking his head. Dan Vaarmets kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. In the 56th minute of the match Aaron McSteve sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tanel Raidur skillfully saved the ball. Brennan Dunne took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joonas Leinapaju, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 66 minutes into the match, Tirloch Costello had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tanel Raidur. Estonia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tirloch Costello was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. After some careless play in the Estonia defense, Lukasz Gornik kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tanel Raidur. The Estonia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tanel Raidur should have stopped the shot. After 84 minutes of play, Estonia's Joonas Leinapaju made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Brennan Dunne was left in no man's land by his defense there! Brennan Dunne made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joonas Leinapaju in the 88th minute of play. The Estonia players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
