Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Waldir Boianelli took the kick off in the first half of the match. Gašpar Omašić didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Waldir Boianelli went, in the 2nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. A throw-in in the 5th minute of the game was made by Eleazar Bernal with Oscar Cabrera as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Gašpar Omašić took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Waldir Boianelli, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gašpar Omašić made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eliseo Montes in the 21st minute of play. Marko Sansević fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christian Paz having to interfere. In the 29th minute Waldir Boianelli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gašpar Omašić saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gašpar Omašić showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eliseo Montes in the 30th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Eliseo Montes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gašpar Omašić was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. The supporters of Croatia booed when Guatemala was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Esteban Rey didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Croatia getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Miran Bedeković hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andro Mitrović in the 41st minute of play forced Guatemala's goalkeeper Christian Paz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Miomir Čizmić kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. In the 43rd minute of the match Eliseo Montes shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gašpar Omašić showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 47 played minutes Croatia got a freekick which was hit by Mihovil Jukić.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Srećko Meter was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to Croatia getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Srećko Meter hit a great ball. Waldir Boianelli's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 58thth minute, Gašpar Omašić skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Andro Mitrović fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christian Paz having to interfere. Croatia made a substitution. Dubravko Kitić replaced Marko Sansević. After 62 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Guatemala! In the 65th minute there was a penalty for Croatia. Ivan Mikša stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Christian Paz. 1-3. Christian Paz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Srećko Meter in the 68th minute of the match. In the 70th minute, Mariano Vinosis left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Guatemala fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-4. Guatemala's Rodrigo González was substituted for Allan Murgas. Guatemala's Jonathan Zepeda was substituted for Oswaldo Navas. After 76 minutes, Miomir Čizmić mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Croatia and the Guatemala players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 76th match minute, Croatia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miomir Čizmić to maneuver through the defense. Croatia's August Sarač was substituted for Andro Mitrović. The supporters of Guatemala booed when Croatia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Miomir Čizmić didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rodrigo González's shot from long distance in the 79th minute was not bad at all, but Croatia's Gašpar Omašić knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. 83 minutes into the match, Croatia's goal looked a bit too open when Eliseo Montes came free, but Gašpar Omašić reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Guatemala's Christian Paz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by August Sarač in the 84th minute of play. Oscar Cabrera fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gašpar Omašić having to interfere. In the 90th minute Srećko Meter shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christian Paz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 96th play minutes August Sarač shot 2-4, a short shot which went by Christian Paz and just under the crossbar into goal. After 99 minutes of play, Croatia's August Sarač made it 3-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Christian Paz was left in no man's land by his defense there! When the final whistle sounded Guatemala left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Croatia.
