An unexpectedly hard shot by Kazimir Lukanc in the 3rd minute of play forced Australia's goalkeeper Logan Wege to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Keefer Carragher in the 5th minute of play forced Slovenia's goalkeeper Julien Malenšek to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 7th minute, Jessop Turnor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Kazimir Lukanc came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the Slovenia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kazimir Lukanc couldn't finish the play. Logan Wege showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Častislav Intihar in the 12th minute of the match. In the 14th minute Nick Žuraj shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Logan Wege saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Slovenia's Julien Malenšek proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Slovenia from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Keefer Carragher in the 17th minute of play forced Slovenia's goalkeeper Julien Malenšek to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Slovenia's Julien Malenšek got control of the ball when Edwards Heath tried to sneak it across the goal line. 28 minutes into the match, Australia's goal looked a bit too open when Častislav Intihar came free, but Logan Wege reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Australia's Logan Wege played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Častislav Intihar in the 31st minute of play. Častislav Intihar might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Logan Wege. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Častislav Intihar ran back to his position shaking his head. 37 minutes into the game, Edwards Heath recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Julien Malenšek. Edwards Heath showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. In the 44th minute, Jessop Turnor made a precise shot to the right of Julien Malenšek. Slovenia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nick Žuraj to make the kick off. In the 50th minute Jessop Turnor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julien Malenšek saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 51 minutes Slovenia's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Tobie Osbiston who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Tobie Osbiston almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Slovenia's Julien Malenšek did a great save. If Jessop Turnor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 60 played minutes Slovenia got a freekick which was hit by Maksimiljan Kutoša. Neville Conlan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Julien Malenšek made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jessop Turnor in the 69th minute of play. Logan Wege made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Častislav Intihar in the 70th minute of play. Julien Malenšek showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Love Street in the 74th minute of the match. After 81 played minutes Australia got a freekick which was hit by Keefer Carragher. Australia made a substitution. Jordon Fordham replaced Keefer Carragher. After a rather tough play, Australia's Keefer Carragher got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Julien Malenšek made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ed Death in the 86th minute of play. Slovenia's Častislav Intihar got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jordon Fordham's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julien Malenšek read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 95th minute of play. When the referee ended the match the Australia players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
