Gabe Conejo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Weena Soccio went, in the 41st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. The U21 Chile fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. The U21 Costa Rica players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. The audience was convinced that Francisco Carballo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fernán Moyano was relentless in the 87th minute of the game. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. U21 Chile had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
