Seating: 2370, VIP seats: 206) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Francisco Carballo took the kick off in the first half of the match. When Francisco Carballo came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the U21 Costa Rica fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Francisco Carballo couldn't finish the play. Cheito Cortés took the ball and in the 8 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gabe Conejo. Gabe Conejo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Fernán Moyano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francisco Carballo in the 12th minute of the match. 15 minutes into the game, Esequiel Dohrmann was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. U21 Chile's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave U21 Costa Rica the free kick. Esequiel Dohrmann hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. After having played for 16 minutes, Francisco Carballo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. U21 Costa Rica's supporters crossed their fingers, but Francisco Carballo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 24th minute, Juan Mackenney left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The U21 Chile fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Gabe Conejo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juan Mackenney in the 27th minute of the match. In the 29th match minute, U21 Chile was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Weena Soccio to maneuver through the defense. Cheito Cortés fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gabe Conejo having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Weena Soccio managed to get in a good position for a shot. U21 Chile's supporters rose to their feet, but Weena Soccio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gabe Conejo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of U21 Costa Rica booed when U21 Chile was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cheito Cortés didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gabe Conejo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Weena Soccio went, in the 41st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. In the 47th minute, Juan Mackenney left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The U21 Chile fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. The U21 Costa Rica players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Juan Mackenney to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute, Olger Pineda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by José Alejandro Siredey during the 81st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to U21 Chile getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. José Alejandro Siredey hit a great ball. In the 82nd minute, Adolfo Aguilar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Yoelvis Presley in the 84th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gabe Conejo saved U21 Costa Rica from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Francisco Carballo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fernán Moyano was relentless in the 87th minute of the game. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. U21 Chile had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
