If Innes McKnight had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 4 minutes into the match, Ireland's goal looked a bit too open when Innes McKnight came free, but Brennan Dunne reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nathan Milne received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Brennan Dunne tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ireland's Brennan Dunne played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nathan Milne in the 10th minute of play. Ross Symon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kevin Barry in the 12th minute of play. Roddie McIlwraith kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. Innes McKnight scored 1-1 in the 16th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Brennan Dunne, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 19 played minutes Scotland got a freekick which was hit by Innes McKnight. Rob McClure kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. In the 22nd match minute, Ireland was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tyrone McLiam to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Scotland's Ross Symon got control of the ball when Tirloch Costello tried to sneak it across the goal line. 31 minutes into the match, Scotland's goal looked a bit too open when Kevin Barry came free, but Ross Symon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ted Bąk took the ball and in the 33 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ross Symon. Ross Symon dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. In the 37th minute, Tirloch Costello ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ross Symon was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. 45 minutes into the game, Ireland's Tirloch Costello nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ross Symon made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-1. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-1 at half-time.

Brennan Dunne showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rob McClure in the 50th minute of the match. Brennan Dunne took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nathan Milne, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Brennan Dunne showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nathan Milne, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. If Nathan Milne had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Scotland's Ross Symon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tirloch Costello in the 58th minute of play. Innes McKnight kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. Scotland's Innes Ellwood was substituted for Innes McKnight. In the 62nd minute, Innes McKnight hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ross Symon came out of the goal in the 68th minute to try and stop a shot by Ireland's Kevin Barry. But to his dismay, Kevin Barry quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1. Ireland's Giles Dalton was substituted for Breccan Willson. 77 minutes into the match, Scotland's goal looked a bit too open when Tyrone McLiam came free, but Ross Symon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 89th minute Michael McHardie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brennan Dunne saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
