Gábor Király showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marius Lăcătuș, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Cristinel Alexandru fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gábor Király having to interfere. Gábor Király stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marius Lăcătuș's shot from short distance in the 12th minute. When the match had gone on for 12 minutes, Marius Lăcătuș put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Gábor Király. Manole Neicu charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Manole Neicu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 16th minute, Gergely Varga reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Flavius Mantu. The goal made the score 1-1. 19 minutes into the match, Cristinel Alexandru notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of U21 Hungary's Gábor Király. Gábor Király was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Flavius Mantu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sándor Toldi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Flavius Mantu made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Gergely Tímár sent off a good shot on target. 32 minutes into the game, Narcis Giurăscu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. U21 Romania's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave U21 Hungary the free kick. After a rather tough play, U21 Romania's Narcis Giurăscu got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Flavius Mantu made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Gergely Tímár sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, U21 Romania's Flavius Mantu got control of the ball when Gergely Varga tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the match had gone on for 45 minutes, Gergely Tímár took a quick shot and it went in 2-2 without a chance for Flavius Mantu to make any attempt to save it. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ciprian Prodan made a kick off. Ciprian Prodan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a little luck, U21 Hungary's Gábor Király got control of the ball when Cristinel Alexandru tried to sneak it across the goal line. Marius Lăcătuș came free with the goalkeeper in the 57th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Gábor Király could save by the left post. Ciprian Prodan's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Gábor Király firmly grabbed it by the left post. Flavius Mantu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gergely Varga in the 65th minute of play. With a little luck, U21 Hungary's Gábor Király got control of the ball when Marius Lăcătuș tried to sneak it across the goal line. 68 minutes into the match, U21 Hungary's goalkeeper Gábor Király had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marius Lăcătuș. U21 Romania made a substitution. Mugur Martinaș replaced Marius Lăcătuș. In the 71st minute, Jaap Stamm hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 73 minutes into the game, Stelian Berceanu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. U21 Romania's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave U21 Hungary the free kick. After 73 played minutes U21 Romania got a freekick which was hit by Stelian Berceanu. Gábor Király was out of position in the 78 minute of play, and Nikiforos Lazurcă capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Nikiforos Lazurcă really showed his touch with that goal: 3-3. Gábor Király showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nikiforos Lazurcă, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. In the 84th minute U21 Romania were awarded a corner. Manole Neicu went to the cornerflag to take it. Ábel Szily tried in the game's 84th match minute to clear up in front of his own goal but it went so bad that he put the ball into the goal to the left of an unhappy Gábor Király. An annoying self made goal, 3-4. In the 89th minute LucaLucan Lucas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavius Mantu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gábor Király made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when Daniel Prodan sent off a good shot on target. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. U21 Romania walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
