Spectators: 10300 (Terracing: 7725, Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Edu Guerrero got the match started through his kick off. Eddie Vedder's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Franklin Casoliva read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Tom Misaki's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Franklin Casoliva was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. 17 minutes into the match, Edu Guerrero dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Leo Butron, 1-0. Franklin Casoliva came out of the goal in the 21st minute to try and stop a shot by U21 Peru's Romeo Esterina. But to his dismay, Romeo Esterina quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. The supporters of U21 Ecuador booed when U21 Peru was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eddie Vedder didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 27th minute, Urtun Bargas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Leo Butron showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edu Guerrero in the 28th minute of the match. When U21 Ecuador's Edu Guerrero in the 28th minute got a chance for a shot 28th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye U21 Peru's goalie prevented a goal. 29 minutes into the game, Eddie Vedder cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Franklin Casoliva was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. U21 Ecuador's Franklin Casoliva played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Haitz Orsini in the 33rd minute of play. After 35 minutes U21 Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gaitano Morente who took care of the corner kick. The corner led U21 Peru's Gaitano Morente to fire away a dangerous shot which Franklin Casoliva despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Leo Butron made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Edu Guerrero sent off a good shot on target. In the 37th minute, Tom Misaki ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Franklin Casoliva was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Leo Butron made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ortiz Quintana in the 41st minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eddie Vedder in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Franklin Casoliva saved U21 Ecuador from getting behind. 44 minutes had been played when some careless play by U21 Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gaitano Morente was slow to take the kick. During this time U21 Peru's players had a chance to rest. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tom Misaki in the 46th minute of play forced U21 Ecuador's goalkeeper Franklin Casoliva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

U21 Ecuador's Raul Caño was substituted for Edu Guerrero. U21 Ecuador's Franklin Casoliva proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save U21 Ecuador from getting a goal against them. Franklin Casoliva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eddie Vedder in the 64th minute of play. U21 Peru's Gonzales Mendigoitia was substituted for Romeo Esterina. U21 Peru made a substitution. Gillermo Ural replaced Tom Misaki. U21 Ecuador's Julio-César Romo-Leroux managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Jonatan Mazorra in the 72 minute of the game. After a rather tough play, U21 Ecuador's Julio-César Romo-Leroux got a free kick in the 80th minute. After 83 played minutes U21 Peru got a freekick which was hit by Eddie Vedder. After 85 minutes, Lopez Dopacio made it 2-3 with a short kick to the right side. U21 Peru's Leo Butron tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 90th match minute, U21 Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raul Caño to maneuver through the defense. Lopez Dopacio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Leo Butron tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 95 minutes into the match, U21 Ecuador's goalkeeper Franklin Casoliva had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gillermo Ural. When the match was over U21 Peru could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than U21 Ecuador throughout the match.
