Porfirio Cazorla hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. 18 minutes into the match, Orlando Villatoro dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Arismendy Craddock, 2-0. 21 minutes into the match, Dominican Republic's goalkeeper Arismendy Craddock had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Abraham Alferez. Dominican Republic's Arismendy Craddock played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Orlando Villatoro in the 23rd minute of play. Arismendy Craddock made an important save on a dangerous shot by Abraham Alferez in the 27th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ciro Aquino in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Yasir Garay prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some careless play in the Honduras defense, Ciro Aquino kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Yasir Garay. The Honduras fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Yasir Garay should have stopped the shot. If Gerardo Almeyda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arismendy Craddock made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Orlando Villatoro in the 40th minute of play. In the 47th minute, Natanael Guillén hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Disappointed in the 2-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Ciro Aquino made the kick off in the second half. Honduras's Yasir Garay proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Honduras from getting a goal against them. Ladislao Hinguanzo took the ball and in the 54 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Arismendy Craddock. Arismendy Craddock dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-3. Ciro Aquino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arismendy Craddock showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abraham Alferez, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. In the 65th minute Natanael Guillén shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yasir Garay saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 68 minutes had been played when some careless play by Honduras's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Feliciano Briceño was slow to take the kick. During this time Dominican Republic's players had a chance to rest. After 69 played minutes Dominican Republic got a freekick which was hit by Eduardo Mosquera. Arismendy Craddock made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abraham Alferez in the 71st minute of play. In the 72ndth minute of the game Ciro Aquino who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Honduras's Yasir Garay was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Yasir Garay stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ciro Aquino's shot from short distance in the 75th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ladislao Hinguanzo in the 80th minute of play forced Dominican Republic's goalkeeper Arismendy Craddock to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dominican Republic's Arismendy Craddock played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Orlando Villatoro in the 84th minute of play. With a little luck, Honduras's Yasir Garay got control of the ball when Natanael Guillén tried to sneak it across the goal line. Arismendy Craddock showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Baltazar Cerritos in the 87th minute of the match. Honduras were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
