The supporters of Colombia booed when Ireland was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bairre Walker didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aznar Santibañez was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 10th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Banon Cassin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bastiaro Atencio in the 14th minute of play. When Bastiaro Atencio came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Colombia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bastiaro Atencio couldn't finish the play. 21 minutes into the match, Ireland's goal looked a bit too open when Bastiaro Atencio came free, but Banon Cassin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Banon Cassin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juan José Carreño, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 30th minute, Juan José Carreño got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ireland's Banon Cassin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bastiaro Atencio in the 32nd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Bastiaro Atencio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Colombia's supporters rose to their feet, but Bastiaro Atencio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Banon Cassin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 35 minutes of play, Colombia's Bastiaro Atencio made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Banon Cassin was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 38th minute, Juan José Carreño left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Colombia fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Banon Cassin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bastiaro Atencio in the 41st minute of play. After 43 minutes of play, Colombia's Bastiaro Atencio made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Banon Cassin was left in no man's land by his defense there! The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tirloch Costello made a kick off. In the 54th minute, Juan José Carreño fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. 57 minutes into the match, Ireland's goalkeeper Banon Cassin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bastiaro Atencio. After 60 minutes Ireland's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Aznar Santibañez who took care of the corner kick. At last the ball reached Perrando Coz at the corner, ending with a kick to difficult to stop for the goalkeeper of Ireland. 0-4. Bastiaro Atencio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Banon Cassin made a huge save. Banon Cassin made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Bastiaro Atencio sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Diego Maradona managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ireland's supporters rose to their feet, but Diego Maradona was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nestor Amezua breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience was convinced that Bastiaro Atencio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Banon Cassin was relentless in the 68th minute of the game. In the 70th play minute Bastiaro Atencio came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Banon Cassin. 0-5. A collision led to Colombia getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Urbes Beloso hit a great ball. Banon Cassin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bastiaro Atencio in the 76th minute. In the 78th minute, Colombia's Juan José Carreño dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-6. The audience was convinced that Juan José Carreño's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Banon Cassin was relentless in the 82nd minute of the game. In the 83rd minute of the match Colombia got a corner. Ireland's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Aznar Santibañez ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Ireland's goalie and right to Bastiaro Atencio. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Ireland's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. A collision led to Ireland getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Nacho Fernandez hit a great ball. 93 minutes into the game, Juan José Carreño recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Banon Cassin. Juan José Carreño showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-7. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Colombia had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
