When Artem Remin fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored U21 Russia's protests and gave Artem Remin a yellow card for diving instead. In the 4th minute, Artem Remin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. U21 Russia's Nikita Kudryavtsev played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vitório Tasso in the 5th minute of play. After 7 minutes of play, U21 Brazil's Tiago Bampi made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nikita Kudryavtsev was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a couple of smart ball manuevers Yuriy Rybakov in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gilmar Neiva saved U21 Brazil from getting behind. Nikita Kudryavtsev showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vitório Trevisan in the 17th minute of the match. 17 minutes into the match, Vitório Trevisan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nikita Kudryavtsev. U21 Russia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Vitório Trevisan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Artur Latypov could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Gilmar Neiva made a huge save. Gilmar Neiva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yuriy Rybakov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 25 minutes into the match, U21 Russia's goal looked a bit too open when Leandros Heidemann came free, but Nikita Kudryavtsev reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nikita Kudryavtsev made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vitório Trevisan in the 26th minute of play. Nikita Kudryavtsev showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tiago Bampi, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. After 29 minutes of play, U21 Russia's Yuriy Rybakov made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gilmar Neiva was left in no man's land by his defense there! Gilmar Neiva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yuriy Rybakov in the 34th minute of play. 41 minutes into the game, Vitório Trevisan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Nikita Kudryavtsev was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Nikita Kudryavtsev made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leandros Heidemann in the 44th minute of play. Nikita Kudryavtsev showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tiago Bampi in the 45th minute of the match. The U21 Russia players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. U21 Brazil were winning 1-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tiago Bampi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Leandros Heidemann ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nikita Kudryavtsev was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yuriy Rybakov in the 61st minute of play forced U21 Brazil's goalkeeper Gilmar Neiva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. U21 Brazil's Tony Stark was substituted for Tiago Bampi. U21 Russia's Nikita Kudryavtsev played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vitório Trevisan in the 68th minute of play. Leandros Heidemann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Nikita Kudryavtsev tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. U21 Russia's Filipp Yakovenko was substituted for German Bystrov. Nikita Kudryavtsev was a little too slow when Vitório Trevisan got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 72nd minute. The score was now 1-6. With a little luck, U21 Russia's Nikita Kudryavtsev got control of the ball when Vitório Trevisan tried to sneak it across the goal line. Artem Remin kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. If Tony Stark had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 77 played minutes U21 Russia got a freekick which was hit by Albert Tsvetkov. 1-7 became the score in the 81st minute when Tony Stark elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Leandros Heidemann could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Nikita Kudryavtsev made a huge save. The crowd rose to their feet as Vitório Trevisan kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Nikita Kudryavtsev. That made the score 1-8 in the 85 minute of play. Leandros Heidemann could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Nikita Kudryavtsev made a huge save. 92 minutes into the match, U21 Russia's goal looked a bit too open when Tony Stark came free, but Nikita Kudryavtsev reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 96 minutes U21 Brazil's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Vladimir Petrov who took care of the corner kick. U21 Brazil played a much better game than U21 Russia and deserved their victory. The U21 Russia players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
