Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Andrei Sanabria got the match started through his kick off. 6 minutes had been played when some careless play by Costa Rica's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Donny Lujan was slow to take the kick. During this time Canada's players had a chance to rest. Canada's Donny Lujan was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Keilor Navas in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After 10 minutes Costa Rica's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Donny Lujan who took care of the corner kick. Laurence Desroches took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andrei Sanabria, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 15th minute, Claudio Cordero left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Costa Rica fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Keilor Navas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Metin-Oktay Sönmez in the 18th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Andrei Sanabria in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Laurence Desroches prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 25th minute of the match Canada got a corner. Costa Rica's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Donny Lujan ran over to the corner to take the kick. Costa Rica's Keilor Navas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Metin-Oktay Sönmez in the 27th minute of play. Fidel Vanderlat kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. 31 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Miguel Park came free, but Keilor Navas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 32nd minute, Robi Lewandowski left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Canada fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Costa Rica's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Manuel Saenz in the 38th minute. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Claudio Cordero advanced and headed the ball into goal, 2-1 in the 38th minute. 41 minutes into the match, Claudio Cordero had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Laurence Desroches. Canada's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Claudio Cordero was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. When the match clock showed 44 minutes, the score became 3-2 when Miguel Park sped through Costa Rica's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Keilor Navas. An unexpectedly hard shot by Metin-Oktay Sönmez in the 47th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Keilor Navas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eustache Holman was the one to do the kick off. When Robi Lewandowski came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Canada fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Robi Lewandowski couldn't finish the play. Costa Rica's Keilor Navas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save Costa Rica from getting a goal against them. Laurence Desroches showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claudio Cordero in the 59th minute of the match. 63 minutes into the match, Andrei Sanabria notched a goal, 4-2, to the right of Canada's Laurence Desroches. Laurence Desroches was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Claudio Cordero blasted a shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Laurence Desroches having to make a save. Keilor Navas made a fantastic save in the 77th minute, when Miguel Park sent off a good shot on target. In the 84th minute, Eustache Holman ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Keilor Navas was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-3. In the 88th minute, Kieth Prince made a precise shot to the right of Keilor Navas. Costa Rica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-4. The crowd rose to their feet as Robi Lewandowski kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Keilor Navas. That made the score 4-5 in the 94 minute of play.
