Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Bart Obrien started the match with the kick off. In the 3rd minute, Ramakanth Mittal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Markus Yost fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored U21 Canada's protests and gave Markus Yost a yellow card for diving instead. In the 9th minute, U21 Canada's Sean Avery ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Devila Chahil. Devila Chahil yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. U21 India's Devila Chahil proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save U21 India from getting a goal against them. Marvin McCarty kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Pablo Holt stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Naina Malhotra's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bart Obrien in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Devila Chahil saved U21 India from getting behind. Devila Chahil made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bart Obrien in the 20th minute. 22 minutes into the match, Bart Obrien notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of U21 India's Devila Chahil. Devila Chahil was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Pablo Holt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abhinav Holkar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 27 minutes into the match, Bart Obrien had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Devila Chahil. U21 India's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bart Obrien was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Bart Obrien in the 30thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Devila Chahil, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sean Avery in the 38th minute of play forced U21 India's goalkeeper Devila Chahil to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sean Avery received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Devila Chahil came out and tried to block the shot, but Sean Avery slotted it home off the left post making it 4-0 in the 38th minute. 45 minutes into the match, Markus Yost dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Devila Chahil, 5-0. In the 47th minute, Odis Leonard hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. U21 Canada's Rubin Charest was substituted for Virgil Van Dijck. Rajeev Boparai received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 50th minute. Pablo Holt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 5-0.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Naina Malhotra to make the kick off. Bart Obrien sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Abhinav Holkar might have been able to make a better finish in the 57th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pablo Holt. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Abhinav Holkar ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience was convinced that Naina Malhotra's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pablo Holt was relentless in the 57th minute of the game. Devila Chahil took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Markus Yost, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. U21 Canada's Pablo Holt proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save U21 Canada from getting a goal against them. Marvin McCarty's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Devila Chahil read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 66th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in U21 India's zone, Markus Yost stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Devila Chahil came out of the goal and Markus Yost tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. U21 Canada made a substitution. Grant Salgado replaced Sean Avery. The supporters of U21 India booed when U21 Canada was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Odis Leonard didn't get a good kick on the ball. U21 India's Devila Chahil played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Markus Yost in the 73rd minute of play. Bahudanti Patiala hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. U21 India's Harshita Bhuppal was substituted for Ramakanth Mittal. In the 87th minute Markus Yost shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Devila Chahil saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bart Obrien in the 89th minute of play forced U21 India's goalkeeper Devila Chahil to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Markus Yost received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Devila Chahil tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. U21 India's Anupam Gowda was substituted for Abhinav Holkar. Bart Obrien received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute.
