The Hungary fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 11 minutes into the match, Takis Karakonstantinou had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Keylor Navas. Hungary's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Takis Karakonstantinou was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Dorotheos Tsekos kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. Che Guevara's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Miltiadis Soupidis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Che Guevara's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Miltiadis Soupidis was relentless in the 19th minute of the game. Miltiadis Soupidis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Che Guevara in the 21st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Che Guevara in the 23rd minute of play forced Greece's goalkeeper Miltiadis Soupidis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hungary's Keylor Navas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pantelis Pantelos in the 27th minute of play. Miltiadis Soupidis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ákos Lévai, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pantelis Pantelos received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Keylor Navas came out and tried to block the shot, but Pantelis Pantelos slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 34th minute. Miltiadis Soupidis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Che Guevara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hungary's Keylor Navas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Hungary from getting a goal against them. 43 minutes into the game, Pantelis Pantelos recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Keylor Navas. Pantelis Pantelos showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-1. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

Miltiadis Soupidis made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ákos Lévai in the 54th minute. In the 56th minute the ball was on its way in behind Hungary's goalkeeper Keylor Navas, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 56th minute, Stamatis Balouris ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Keylor Navas was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Che Guevara in the 63rd minute of play forced Greece's goalkeeper Miltiadis Soupidis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Greece:s Miltiadis Soupidis showed great skill when he stopped Mátyás Lovász:s penalty. In the 72nd minute Greece were awarded a corner. Grigoris Georgatos went to the cornerflag to take it. 74 minutes into the match, Hungary's goal looked a bit too open when Stamatis Balouris came free, but Keylor Navas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 77th minute of the match Greece got a corner. Hungary's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Grigoris Georgatos ran over to the corner to take the kick. After some careless play in the Hungary defense, Stamatis Balouris kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Keylor Navas. The Hungary fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Keylor Navas should have stopped the shot. Hungary's Máté Tokody was substituted for Mátyás Lovász. After 83 minutes, Ede Kocsis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hungary and the Greece players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Hungary getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Ede Kocsis hit a great ball. Miltiadis Soupidis was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Sámuel Pásztor showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 5-2 in the 85 minute of play. Greece were furious when Panos Stasinopoulos was red carded, 95 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 95 minutes into the game, one of Greece:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The Greece support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
