Lothaire Petit showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maxi Mus, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. In the 7th minute Adrien Cochran shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alex Bell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luis Wimmer made in the 13th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Henning Zingler immediately put the ball in play. After 32 played minutes U21 Canada got a freekick which was hit by Tuan King. Alex Bell made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adrien Cochran in the 34th minute of play. Alex Bell showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adrien Cochran in the 47th minute of the match. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

U21 Canada's Colin Caballero was substituted for Rolland Crosby. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Randy Franzen to strike the kick off in the second half. Henning Zingler was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 53rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. 55 minutes into the game, Chris Hoecker cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Lothaire Petit was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 60th minute of the match, Colin Caballero tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Alex Bell saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 62nd minute, Otto Faust hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. U21 Austria's Sören Lau was substituted for Maxi Mus. U21 Austria's Kemo Tush was substituted for Olaf Berger. U21 Austria's Andre Cyzewski was substituted for Uwe Unterberger. Otto Faust hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. In the 66th minute Colin Caballero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alex Bell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lothaire Petit dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. When Russell Sweet fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored U21 Canada's protests and gave Russell Sweet a yellow card for diving instead. Russell Sweet hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Lothaire Petit didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sören Lau went, in the 95th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score.
