Lukhum Cholokaev had several of the Montenegro's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 13 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Grujica Ljuca as he didn't even see the shot coming. If Lukhum Cholokaev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a little luck, Montenegro's Grujica Ljuca got control of the ball when Lukhum Cholokaev tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nedeljko Đurović in the 26th minute of play forced Georgia's goalkeeper Torgva Robakidze to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 28 minutes into the match, Georgia's goal looked a bit too open when Nedeljko Đurović came free, but Torgva Robakidze reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lukhum Cholokaev sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 31 minutes into the match, Georgia's Roland Milakiev sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Grujica Ljuca narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Lukhum Cholokaev could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Grujica Ljuca made a huge save. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 51st minute Lukhum Cholokaev shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Grujica Ljuca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 52 minutes Montenegro's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Lukhum Cholokaev who took care of the corner kick. It was a well-played corner which Shoshita Pilievi managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Montenegro's Grujica Ljuca played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lukhum Cholokaev in the 55th minute of play. Lukhum Cholokaev blasted a shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Grujica Ljuca having to make a save. Roland Milakiev received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Grujica Ljuca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lukhum Cholokaev might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Grujica Ljuca. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lukhum Cholokaev ran back to his position shaking his head. Montenegro made a substitution. Aleksa Adžić replaced Pujo Drobnjaković. 71 minutes into the match, Montenegro's goal looked a bit too open when Roland Milakiev came free, but Grujica Ljuca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Grujica Ljuca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lukhum Cholokaev in the 88th minute of play. After 96 played minutes Georgia got a freekick which was hit by Shoshita Pilievi.
