Penalty! 19 minutes into the game, Gabriel Motowski recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Robert Pitkänen. Gabriel Motowski showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1. Gabriel Motowski recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mexico's Camilo Cesaro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ahto Valin in the 29th minute of play. In the 34th minute the ball was on its way in behind Finland's goalkeeper Robert Pitkänen, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 36th minute Aimo Modig shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Camilo Cesaro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 37 minutes into the match, Finland's goalkeeper Robert Pitkänen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gabriel Motowski. When the match clock showed 42 minutes, the score became 3-1 when Gabriel Motowski sped through Finland's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Robert Pitkänen. If Isai Murillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 47 minutes, Gabriel Motowski managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mexico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gabriel Motowski was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

After some careless play in the Finland defense, Gabriel Motowski kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Robert Pitkänen. The Finland fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Robert Pitkänen should have stopped the shot. Mexico's Camilo Cesaro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save Mexico from getting a goal against them. In the 85th minute, Finland's Ahto Valin ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Camilo Cesaro. Camilo Cesaro yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 6-2. Robert Pitkänen didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gabriel Motowski went, in the 88th minute, to the upper right corner, 7-2 was the resulting score. In the 94th minute, Urmas Kuparinen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mexico were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Finland for a fine match.
