After 6 played minutes U21 Algeria got a freekick which was hit by Dida Mezali. Sergio Ascue took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agwama Sabati, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The corner ended in Agwama Sabati almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but U21 Chile's Sergio Ascue did a great save. In the 14th minute of the match Dida Mezali sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sergio Ascue skillfully saved the ball. Sergio Ascue took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Afennich Aliche, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. U21 Chile's defense didn't have a chance, in the 18th minute, when Afennich Aliche scored to the left of an out of position Sergio Ascue, making the score, 1-0. Sergio Ascue had great luck who in the 21stth minute grab hold of the ball when Agwama Sabati from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. If Hermelando Faure had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The supporters of U21 Chile booed when U21 Algeria was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nordine Jeanson didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 29th minute, Fateh Abdelmoumene reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Sergio Ascue. The goal made the score 2-0. If Dida Mezali had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 35th minute of the match, Fateh Abdelmoumene tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Sergio Ascue saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 37 minutes into the match, Afennich Aliche notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of U21 Chile's Sergio Ascue. Sergio Ascue was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Djamel Saadane to strike the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the U21 Algeria defense, Juliano Margulis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bakezda Meriem. The U21 Algeria fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bakezda Meriem should have stopped the shot. Dida Mezali hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. After 61 played minutes, U21 Algeria's Dida Mezali shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Sergio Ascue came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in U21 Algeria reached it. U21 Algeria's Bakezda Meriem proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save U21 Algeria from getting a goal against them. When the match had gone on for 62 minutes, Beatricio Lasserre took a quick shot and it went in 3-2 without a chance for Bakezda Meriem to make any attempt to save it. The supporters of U21 Algeria booed when U21 Chile was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ariel Maffioletti didn't get a good kick on the ball. Djamel Saadane recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 69 minutes into the match, U21 Chile's goal looked a bit too open when Djamel Saadane came free, but Sergio Ascue reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sergio Ascue came out of the goal in the 73rd minute to try and stop a shot by U21 Algeria's Djamel Saadane. But to his dismay, Djamel Saadane quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-2. The U21 Algeria fans' excitement grew in the 78th match minute when U21 Algeria's Djamel Saadane looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 5-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 84 minutes into the match, U21 Chile's goal looked a bit too open when Fateh Abdelmoumene came free, but Sergio Ascue reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 86 played minutes U21 Algeria got a freekick which was hit by Nordine Jeanson. Bakezda Meriem made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juliano Margulis in the 87th minute of play. Dida Mezali hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. In the 89th minute of the match Lê Çınar Eymen shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bakezda Meriem showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. U21 Algeria had won after a very even match.
