Aaron Argoud made the kick off and thus started the match. Edinho Branco had several of the U21 Australia's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 3 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Steve Panetta as he didn't even see the shot coming. In the 8th minute, Edu Gomes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. U21 Australia's Steve Panetta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edu Gomes in the 10th minute of play. Steve Panetta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edu Gomes in the 10th minute of the match. With his leg Steve Panetta managed to avoid a goal in the 15thth minute, when U21 Brazil's Edinho Branco fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 16 minutes into the match, U21 Australia's goal looked a bit too open when Edu Gomes came free, but Steve Panetta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. U21 Australia's defense didn't have a chance, in the 17th minute, when Edu Gomes scored to the left of an out of position Steve Panetta, making the score, 2-0. Frank Leite sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Edu Gomes scored 4-0 in the 26th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Steve Panetta, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 28th match minute, U21 Brazil was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edinho Branco to maneuver through the defense. In the 29th match minute, U21 Brazil was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paulinho Lopes to maneuver through the defense. In the 30th minute of the match Barnard Bailey shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Felipe Vale showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Steve Panetta stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edinho Branco's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. Steve Panetta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edinho Branco in the 41st minute of play. If Martyon Everett had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

Edu Gomes hit a great freekick 50 minutes into the match. Steve Panetta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edu Gomes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 61st match minute, U21 Australia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Barnard Bailey to maneuver through the defense. In the 63rd match minute, U21 Australia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Barnard Bailey to maneuver through the defense. When Eduardo Vieira came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the U21 Brazil fans jumped to their feet. Fred Neto hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Martyon Everett's late challenge caught a U21 Brazil's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Martyon Everett helped the player get up and apologised. In the 88th match minute, U21 Australia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Martyon Everett to maneuver through the defense. Through an outstanding action, after 92 minutes, Felipe Vale successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. U21 Australia were awarded a corner in the 93th minute after U21 Brazil's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Barnard Bailey took the corner. The corner led U21 Australia's Barnard Bailey to fire away a dangerous shot which Felipe Vale despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Steve Panetta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hélio Godoi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Martyon Everett was shown his second yellow card after 95 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Martyon Everett kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. U21 Brazil had won after a very even match.
