Romania's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. 87 minutes in the game Doroteo Flagello did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Beppe Ferraro. 91 minutes into the game, Mugurel Calciu recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Angelo Peruzzi. Mugurel Calciu showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-1. Armando Tarantini sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee ended the match the Italy players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
