Seating: 237, VIP seats: 20) U21 Australia's Pearce Hines started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a little luck, U21 Australia's Steve Panetta got control of the ball when Angelo Mims tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 6th match minute, U21 Australia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Justin Alwege to maneuver through the defense. 9 minutes into the match, U21 Australia's goalkeeper Steve Panetta had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dwayne Rosario. U21 Australia's Steve Panetta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lemuel Hopson in the 13th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lemuel Hopson in the 15th minute of play forced U21 Australia's goalkeeper Steve Panetta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 19th minute Lucas Tongs shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Trinidad Plummer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Trinidad Plummer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pearce Hines, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Pearce Hines's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Trinidad Plummer was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dwayne Rosario got free with Steve Panetta in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Steve Panetta made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dwayne Rosario in the 30th minute. Isaac Cassilly charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Isaac Cassilly the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 42nd match minute, U21 Australia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Isaac Cassilly to maneuver through the defense. Demarcus Bisaillon shot from long distance in the 43rd minute, but Steve Panetta was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. In the 44th minute Pearce Hines shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Trinidad Plummer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dwayne Rosario recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
Dwayne Rosario kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Steve Panetta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dwayne Rosario in the 56th minute of play. Neville Conlan's late challenge caught a U21 Canada's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Neville Conlan helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to U21 Australia getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Neville Conlan hit a great ball. In the 59th match minute, U21 Australia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hale Hoey to maneuver through the defense. When Leslie Britt came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the U21 Canada fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leslie Britt couldn't finish the play. 62 minutes into the match, U21 Canada's goal looked a bit too open when Lucas Tongs came free, but Trinidad Plummer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. U21 Australia's Steve Panetta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lukáš Piszczek in the 64th minute of play. U21 Canada's Trinidad Plummer proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save U21 Canada from getting a goal against them. U21 Australia's Steve Panetta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lukáš Piszczek in the 72nd minute of play. 74 minutes into the match, U21 Canada's goal looked a bit too open when Lucas Tongs came free, but Trinidad Plummer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 76th match minute, U21 Canada was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lemuel Hopson to maneuver through the defense. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched U21 Australia eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
