After 13 played minutes France got a freekick which was hit by Raphaël Varane. Maxence Dubief made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Coelho in the 15th minute of play. Maxence Dubief showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jorge Daniel, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Maxence Dubief came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by Portugal's Mariano Figueiredo. But to his dismay, Mariano Figueiredo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Yves Ferlin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Vítor Carneiro made a huge save. Maxence Dubief took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mariano Figueiredo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 29 played minutes Portugal got a freekick which was hit by Mariano Figueiredo. In the 32nd match minute, Portugal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bento Branco to maneuver through the defense. Maxence Dubief showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from João Coelho in the 34th minute of the match. Vítor Carneiro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Samy Caroff went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. If Yves Ferlin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. France's Jérôme Poix was substituted for Samy Caroff. 44 minutes into the game, one of France:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. France:s Maxence Dubief showed great skill when he stopped João Coelho:s penalty. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell João Coelho to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Willy Snow in the 57th minute of play forced Portugal's goalkeeper Vítor Carneiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. France's Maxence Dubief played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Coelho in the 60th minute of play. Maxence Dubief showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jorge Daniel in the 64th minute of the match. Maxence Dubief made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jorge Daniel in the 66th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mariano Figueiredo got free with Maxence Dubief in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. France's Maxence Dubief proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save France from getting a goal against them. Portugal made a substitution. Paulo Santos replaced Lourenço Moutinho. France's Isaac Tomasini was substituted for Sofiane Belotti. Portugal's Amadeu Guarda was substituted for Abraham Lincoln. Portugal made a substitution. André Vale replaced Mariano Figueiredo. After 80 minutes Portugal's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Isaac Tomasini who took care of the corner kick. The supporters of France booed when Portugal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bento Branco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vítor Carneiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tony Prime in the 89th minute of the match. Amadeu Guarda's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 90thth minute, Maxence Dubief skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Vítor Carneiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Isaac Tomasini, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Raphaël Varane kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in France's zone, Amadeu Guarda stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Maxence Dubief came out of the goal and Amadeu Guarda tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
