Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) U21 Brazil's Cido Barral started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Bernardo Federici kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. 20 minutes into the match, U21 Italy's goalkeeper Davide Manzoni had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cido Barral. The audience was convinced that Amerigo Caponera's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ricardinho Taffarel was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Amerigo Caponera in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ricardinho Taffarel saved U21 Brazil from getting behind. After 28 played minutes U21 Italy got a freekick which was hit by Corrado Bianchini. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leandro Damião in the 29th minute of play forced U21 Italy's goalkeeper Davide Manzoni to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 33 minutes into the match, U21 Italy's goal looked a bit too open when Cido Barral came free, but Davide Manzoni reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The U21 Italy fans' excitement grew in the 36th match minute when U21 Italy's Amerigo Caponera looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Eraldo Ragusa hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Davide Manzoni came out of the goal in the 42nd minute to try and stop a shot by U21 Brazil's Leandro Damião. But to his dismay, Leandro Damião quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Amerigo Caponera stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, U21 Brazil's Eliseu Secco got a free kick in the 53rd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Leandro Damião in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Davide Manzoni saved U21 Italy from getting behind. Davide Manzoni showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leandro Damião in the 59th minute of the match. In the 61st minute, Chiquinho Nóbrega ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Davide Manzoni was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. U21 Italy's Kaká Rot was substituted for Diego Suriani. U21 Brazil made a substitution. Olavo Faria replaced Chiquinho Nóbrega. Waldir Peixoto hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. U21 Italy made a substitution. Fausto Colle replaced Amerigo Caponera. In the 69th minute, Waldir Peixoto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ricardinho Taffarel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kaká Rot in the 75th minute of the match. The U21 Italy fans' excitement grew in the 75th match minute when U21 Italy's Fausto Colle looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cido Barral in the 79th minute of play forced U21 Italy's goalkeeper Davide Manzoni to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Davide Manzoni made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leandro Damião in the 81st minute of play. U21 Italy's Davide Manzoni played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cido Barral in the 83rd minute of play. After having played for 85 minutes, Kaká Rot managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. U21 Italy's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kaká Rot was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 87 minutes into the match, U21 Italy's goal looked a bit too open when Leandro Damião came free, but Davide Manzoni reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Olavo Faria in the 89th minute of play forced U21 Italy's goalkeeper Davide Manzoni to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Davide Manzoni came out of the goal in the 89th minute to try and stop a shot by U21 Brazil's Olavo Faria. But to his dismay, Olavo Faria quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. U21 Brazil's Ricardinho Taffarel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Achille Muciaccia in the 92nd minute of play. U21 Brazil's Ricardinho Taffarel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save U21 Brazil from getting a goal against them.
