Seating: 2376, VIP seats: 206) U21 Norway's Azär Karataş started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Loris Karidis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Romulo Osoitz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wilhelm Blakstad charged in rather forcefully in the 9th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Wilhelm Blakstad the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 9th match minute, U21 Norway was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wilhelm Blakstad to maneuver through the defense. When Azär Karataş fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored U21 Norway's protests and gave Azär Karataş a yellow card for diving instead. In the 14th minute, Azär Karataş hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 20 minutes of play, U21 Argentina's Romulo Osoitz made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Loris Karidis was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 23rd minute Azär Karataş shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juan Carlos Olave saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 24 minutes had been played when some careless play by U21 Argentina's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. C.J. Wildman was slow to take the kick. During this time U21 Norway's players had a chance to rest. The corner led U21 Norway's Azär Karataş to fire away a dangerous shot which Juan Carlos Olave despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 29 minutes into the match, U21 Norway's goal looked a bit too open when Romulo Osoitz came free, but Loris Karidis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Juan Carlos Olave made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eilif Ranheim in the 31st minute. Juan Carlos Olave showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Azär Karataş in the 33rd minute of the match. If Romulo Osoitz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. A well-hit corner resulted in Rosendo Dimas heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Ramiro Montrelle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Loris Karidis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ramiro Montrelle, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half U21 Argentina were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
In the 51st minute the ball was on its way in behind U21 Argentina's goalkeeper Juan Carlos Olave, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 53 played minutes U21 Norway got a freekick which was hit by Thomas Soma. Ramiro Montrelle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 55 minutes, Christoffer Ravndal mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the U21 Norway and the U21 Argentina players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 55 played minutes U21 Norway got a freekick which was hit by Christoffer Ravndal. Romulo Osoitz might have been able to make a better finish in the 57th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Loris Karidis. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Romulo Osoitz ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, U21 Norway's Alexander Mehus got a free kick in the 57th minute. Gabriel Heinze, 58 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 59th match minute, U21 Norway was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christoffer Ravndal to maneuver through the defense. Romulo Osoitz struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Loris Karidis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for U21 Argentina. Eilif Ranheim received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Juan Carlos Olave tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. U21 Argentina's Eloy Semeno was substituted for Ramiro Montrelle. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maximiliano Ronconi in the 66th minute of play forced U21 Norway's goalkeeper Loris Karidis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 65th minute of the game. One of U21 Norway:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of U21 Argentina:s goal. U21 Norway's Loris Karidis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save U21 Norway from getting a goal against them. U21 Argentina made a substitution. Efrain Chuse replaced Rosendo Dimas. When the match had gone on for 76 minutes, Romulo Osoitz took a quick shot and it went in 0-3 without a chance for Loris Karidis to make any attempt to save it. After 79 played minutes Maximiliano Ronconi rounded U21 Norway's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-4. Romulo Osoitz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Loris Karidis having to interfere. Loris Karidis made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eloy Semeno in the 84th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Juan Manuel Rojas during the 86th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Juan Manuel Rojas hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Loris Karidis didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Eloy Semeno went, in the 90th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-5 was the resulting score. 95 minutes into the game, Romulo Osoitz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. U21 Argentina's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave U21 Norway the free kick. U21 Argentina's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
