Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Arthur Lawrence made the kick off which started today's match. The supporters of U21 Canada booed when U21 Brazil was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Flávio Jacinto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Giovanni Dante took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arthur Lawrence, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 12 minutes into the game, Jânio Lopes recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Graig Ratté. Jânio Lopes showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. 18 minutes into the match, Dele Ali had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Giovanni Dante. U21 Brazil's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dele Ali was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. In the 23rd minute, José Maria de Castro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gabriel Rondinone kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Graig Ratté showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Caetano Saad, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Graig Ratté acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 28th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Gabriel Rondinone. In the 32nd minute, Gabriel Rondinone left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The U21 Brazil fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Giovanni Dante made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dele Ali in the 41st minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.
51 minutes into the match, U21 Canada's goal looked a bit too open when Jânio Lopes came free, but Graig Ratté reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arthur Lawrence kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. U21 Canada made a substitution. Marshall Lemaître replaced Dele Ali. U21 Brazil's Artur Sampaio was substituted for Gabriel Rondinone. U21 Brazil made a substitution. Serginho Chulapa replaced Jânio Lopes. Graig Ratté stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Serginho Chulapa's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. Scottie Doiron hit a great ball. Flávio Jacinto took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 65th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Graig Ratté. U21 Canada's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Artur Sampaio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Graig Ratté having to interfere. In the 74thth minute of the game Serginho Chulapa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but U21 Canada's Graig Ratté was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to U21 Canada getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Chester Sawyer hit a great ball. When Caetano Saad came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the U21 Brazil fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Caetano Saad couldn't finish the play. Elton Daniels charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Elton Daniels the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Artur Sampaio took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 85th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Graig Ratté. U21 Canada's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 89th minute, Arthur Lawrence hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 90th minute of the match Danilo Arruda shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Graig Ratté showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. There was no doubt that U21 Brazil were the better team. U21 Brazil's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
