Spectators: 10305 (Terracing: 7729, Seating: 2370, VIP seats: 206) Yuri Radkovski started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nedelcho Kasúrov during the 2nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Nedelcho Kasúrov kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Mathias Engsharth managed to get in a good position for a shot. U21 Denmark's supporters rose to their feet, but Mathias Engsharth was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Boycho Zikolov breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 5th minute, U21 Bulgaria's Yuri Radkovski dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. In the 10th minute, Bozhko Gardakov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 10th minute of the match Mathias Engsharth shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Boycho Zikolov showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Boycho Zikolov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ture Galal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Yuri Radkovski got free with Bjarke Wædegaard in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Bjarke Wædegaard was a little too slow when Nedyalko Kitanov got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 17th minute. The score was now 2-0. U21 Bulgaria's Sevdalin Toshkin got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match clock showed 23 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Ture Galal sped through U21 Bulgaria's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Boycho Zikolov. A hard shot 29 in the game by Sevdalin Toshkin from a close distance when the talented Bjarke Wædegaard managed to make a qualified save. U21 Denmark's players were relieved. In the 36th minute, Aksel Allertsen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Boycho Zikolov came out of the goal in the 45th minute to try and stop a shot by U21 Denmark's Aksel Allertsen. But to his dismay, Aksel Allertsen quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-2 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Aksel Allertsen was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yuri Radkovski in the 55th minute of play forced U21 Denmark's goalkeeper Bjarke Wædegaard to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sevdalin Toshkin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Boycho Zikolov made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tom Boander in the 61st minute. 62 minutes had been played when some careless play by U21 Bulgaria's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Mathias Engsharth was slow to take the kick. During this time U21 Denmark's players had a chance to rest. Dafin Rulev hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. U21 Bulgaria's Alexander Hadzhisotirov was substituted for Nedyalko Kitanov. In the 64th minute, Dafin Rulev hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 74th minute, Timmi Lux reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Boycho Zikolov. The goal made the score 3-3. After 77 played minutes U21 Denmark got a freekick which was hit by Bastian Hatzipetrou. Mathias Engsharth hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Bjarke Wædegaard made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valkan Leviev in the 86th minute of play. Dobrin Tomovski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 90th minute Valkan Leviev shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bjarke Wædegaard saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 93rd match minute, U21 Bulgaria was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alexander Hadzhisotirov to maneuver through the defense. In the 97th minute the ball was on its way in behind U21 Denmark's goalkeeper Bjarke Wædegaard, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. For all the effort they put into the match, the U21 Denmark players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for U21 Bulgaria.
