Switzerland's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that 공 욱 was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Handi Gottesman made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when 김 형 sent off a good shot on target. 32 minutes into the match, South Korea's goal looked a bit too open when Lester Fenstermacher came free, but 김 어 reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 공 욱's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Handi Gottesman read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. In the 40th match minute, Switzerland was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luca Rondinelli to maneuver through the defense. Handi Gottesman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from 공 욱, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. In the 47th minute, 김 형 left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The South Korea fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell 김 형 to make the kick off. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. 김 궉 helped the player get up and apologised. In the 80th match minute, South Korea was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by 김 궉 to maneuver through the defense. 김 어 showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gerard Genazzi in the 82nd minute of the match. After 87 minutes, Luca Rondinelli mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Switzerland and the South Korea players grew even worse after the yellow card.
