Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Amgad Maged kicked off to start the match. The supporters of U21 Canada booed when U21 Egypt was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hamdy Ghali didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 9th minute, Akram Basem ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tommie Rosen was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. The crowd rose to their feet as U21 Egypt's Amgad Maged slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Tommie Rosen. That made the score 2-0 after 12 minutes of play. Riad Fahmy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ian Skaggs in the 16th minute of play. Riad Fahmy stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ian Skaggs's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. U21 Canada's Oswaldo Plouffe quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Hamdy Ghali, made in the 18th minute of the game. Ali Sönmez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Riad Fahmy having to interfere. Tommie Rosen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Akram Basem in the 25th minute of play. The corner led U21 Egypt's Hashem Barakat to fire away a dangerous shot which Tommie Rosen despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Riad Fahmy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ian Skaggs in the 28th minute of play. Tommie Rosen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Akram Basem, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to U21 Egypt getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Karam Zaky hit a great ball. Ian Skaggs struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Riad Fahmy didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for U21 Canada. When the match clock showed 37 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Ian Skaggs sped through U21 Egypt's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Riad Fahmy. If Ian Skaggs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Amgad Maged's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tommie Rosen was relentless in the 45th minute of the game. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.
