Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Dobrin Tomovski kicked off to start the match. Romualdo Pontigo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dobrin Tomovski in the 6th minute of play. Romualdo Pontigo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dobrin Tomovski's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. A collision led to U21 Chile getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Ernesto Marchi hit a great ball. 25 minutes into the match, U21 Bulgaria's goalkeeper Boycho Zikolov had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Desiderio Manzanal. Abelardo Paris might have been able to make a better finish in the 26th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Boycho Zikolov. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Abelardo Paris ran back to his position shaking his head. 27 minutes into the game, Don Miguel was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. U21 Chile's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave U21 Bulgaria the free kick. U21 Chile's Romualdo Pontigo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dobrin Tomovski in the 31st minute of play. Detelin Tuechki sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nedyalko Kitanov in the 33rd minute of play forced U21 Chile's goalkeeper Romualdo Pontigo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Romualdo Pontigo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Detelin Tuechki went, in the 34th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dobrin Tomovski in the 39th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Romualdo Pontigo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 42 minutes, Desiderio Manzanal mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the U21 Chile and the U21 Bulgaria players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 42nd match minute, U21 Chile was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Desiderio Manzanal to maneuver through the defense. Abelardo Paris fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Boycho Zikolov having to interfere. When Dobrin Tomovski came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the U21 Bulgaria fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dobrin Tomovski couldn't finish the play.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jonathan Benítez was the one to do the kick off. Romualdo Pontigo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nedyalko Kitanov in the 58th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 60 minutes, Dobrin Tomovski put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Romualdo Pontigo. Dobrin Tomovski's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 64thth minute, Romualdo Pontigo skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 64th match minute, U21 Chile was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ernesto Marchi to maneuver through the defense. Sevdalin Toshkin struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Romualdo Pontigo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for U21 Bulgaria. In the 67th match minute, U21 Chile was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ernesto Marchi to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sevdalin Toshkin in the 68th minute of play forced U21 Chile's goalkeeper Romualdo Pontigo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Romualdo Pontigo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dobrin Tomovski in the 69th minute of play. Romualdo Pontigo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dafin Rulev, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dobrin Tomovski's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 81stth minute, Romualdo Pontigo skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Nedyalko Kitanov recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 87 played minutes U21 Chile got a freekick which was hit by Ernesto Marchi. When Nedelcho Kasúrov fell near the penalty area in the 90th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored U21 Bulgaria's protests and gave Nedelcho Kasúrov a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to U21 Bulgaria getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Nedelcho Kasúrov hit a great ball. Dobrin Tomovski who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 93rdth minute tested the skills of Romualdo Pontigo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. U21 Chile's Romualdo Pontigo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save U21 Chile from getting a goal against them. In the 95th minute, Abelardo Paris hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. U21 Bulgaria's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
