With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ruslan Cârlig in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Enrique Frederick saved Canada from getting behind. Filip Ciuche blasted a shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Enrique Frederick having to make a save. Moldova's Ovidiu Vornic played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ken Lafrenière in the 36th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ruslan Cârlig in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Enrique Frederick saved Canada from getting behind. The Moldova fans' excitement grew in the 38th match minute when Moldova's Ruslan Cârlig looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Ovidiu Vornic made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ken Lafrenière in the 42nd minute of play. After 43 played minutes Myles Chesnay rounded Moldova's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-2. When the match clock showed 47 minutes, the score became 2-3 when Ruslan Cârlig sped through Canada's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Enrique Frederick. Canada's Wade Camacho was substituted for Odilon Baxter.

The wind increased when Ruslan Cârlig made the kick off in the second half. After 85 played minutes Moldova got a freekick which was hit by Eduard Vizitiu. Wade Camacho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ovidiu Vornic having to make a save. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind Moldova's goalkeeper Ovidiu Vornic, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ion Jereghis short, quick shot in the 87thth minute got Enrique Frederick to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Canada's Enrique Frederick played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ion Jereghi in the 97th minute of play. 99 minutes had been played when some careless play by Canada's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Aurel Dobândã was slow to take the kick. During this time Moldova's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Aurel Dobândã got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Enrique Frederick quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. For all the effort they put into the match, the Moldova players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Canada.
