Seating: 3316, VIP seats: 288) An unexpectedly hard shot by Gil Ojero in the 3rd minute of play forced India's goalkeeper Angaristha Atwal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Peru's Basilio Urguia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arvacina Agrawal in the 9th minute of play. Angaristha Atwal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gil Ojero in the 17th minute of play. Basilio Urguia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adinatha Khandelwal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 23 minutes had been played when some careless play by Peru's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Chananjeet Bhachu was slow to take the kick. During this time India's players had a chance to rest. After a defensive mix-up in India's zone, Edgardo Vilar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Angaristha Atwal came out of the goal and Edgardo Vilar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Basilio Urguia didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Adinatha Khandelwal went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. India were awarded a corner in the 31th minute after Peru's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Chananjeet Bhachu took the corner. The corner led India's Chananjeet Bhachu to fire away a dangerous shot which Basilio Urguia despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Basilio Urguia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adinatha Khandelwal in the 34th minute of play. 36 minutes into the match, India's goalkeeper Angaristha Atwal had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lope Cardeñosa. Ili Dwivedi hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Angaristha Atwal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lope Cardeñosa in the 41st minute of the match. In the 44th minute, Lope Cardeñosa made a precise shot to the right of Angaristha Atwal. India's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. 48 minutes into the match, Adinatha Khandelwal had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Basilio Urguia. Peru's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Adinatha Khandelwal was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Arvacina Agrawal was the one to do the kick off. In the 56th minute Arvacina Agrawal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Basilio Urguia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the India defense, Lope Cardeñosa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Angaristha Atwal. The India fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Angaristha Atwal should have stopped the shot. Arvacina Agrawal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Basilio Urguia having to interfere. India made a substitution. Amritaprabha Jain replaced Adinatha Khandelwal. 74 minutes into the match, Peru's goalkeeper Basilio Urguia had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Amritaprabha Jain. Peru's Umea Munaya was substituted for Feliu Ucles. India's Kudhara Sharma was substituted for Arvacina Agrawal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Quintan Corral during the 82nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 82 played minutes Peru got a freekick which was hit by Quintan Corral. In the 85th minute Cordarrol Villamandos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Angaristha Atwal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Agnidhraka Kler kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. In the 87th minute the ball was on its way in behind India's goalkeeper Angaristha Atwal, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Angaristha Atwal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Umea Munaya in the 88th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Peru's Umea Munaya got a free kick in the 90th minute. Basilio Urguia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kudhara Sharma, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 93 minutes of play, Peru's Quintan Corral made it 4-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Angaristha Atwal was left in no man's land by his defense there! When the match clock showed 98 minutes, the score became 5-2 when Gil Ojero sped through India's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Angaristha Atwal. Peru's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
