In the 3rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Colombia's goalkeeper Lander Arrugueta, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ricardo Quintanilla in the 4th minute of play forced Norway's goalkeeper Odd Rydland to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 6th minute Ricardo Quintanilla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Odd Rydland saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ikatz Larabiedra in the 8th minute of play forced Norway's goalkeeper Odd Rydland to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 15th minute Ricardo Quintanilla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Odd Rydland saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Odd Rydland made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ricardo Quintanilla in the 17th minute of play. Lander Arrugueta made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Felix Josefsen sent off a good shot on target. If Espen Nese had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 25 minutes into the match, Norway's goal looked a bit too open when Ikatz Larabiedra came free, but Odd Rydland reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Odd Rydland took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ikatz Larabiedra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lander Arrugueta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felix Josefsen in the 30th minute of play. After 32 minutes of play, Colombia's Ricardo Quintanilla made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Odd Rydland was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience thought a goal was coming when Felix Josefsen got free with Lander Arrugueta in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 37th minute Ikatz Larabiedra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Odd Rydland saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Odd Rydland made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ikatz Larabiedra in the 37th minute of play. Colombia's Martinez Sufiria got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Felix Josefsen might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lander Arrugueta. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Felix Josefsen ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Josefsen in the 41st minute of play forced Colombia's goalkeeper Lander Arrugueta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ricardo Quintanilla made a kick off. Odd Rydland showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ikatz Larabiedra, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. After some careless play in the Norway defense, Ikatz Larabiedra kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Odd Rydland. The Norway fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Odd Rydland should have stopped the shot. Lander Arrugueta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felix Josefsen in the 55th minute of the match. Valiente Nogueira made in the 56th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Eloi Pumeral. Lander Arrugueta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felix Josefsen, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. In the 61st minute Martinez Sufiria shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Odd Rydland saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Colombia defense, Felix Josefsen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lander Arrugueta. The Colombia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lander Arrugueta should have stopped the shot. In the 70th minute of the match Norway got a corner. Colombia's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Espen Nese ran over to the corner to take the kick. Espen Nese sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 75th minute Ikatz Larabiedra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Odd Rydland saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Colombia's Ikatz Larabiedra saw an opening behind the goalie Odd Rydland in the 75thth minute and tried to shoot past into the top right corner, but with great reflexes Odd Rydland with one arm managed to save the shot in the last secound. In the 79thth minute of the game Martinez Sufiria who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Norway's Odd Rydland was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 80 minutes into the match, Norway's goal looked a bit too open when Ikatz Larabiedra came free, but Odd Rydland reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lander Arrugueta came out of the goal in the 84th minute to try and stop a shot by Norway's Felix Josefsen. But to his dismay, Felix Josefsen quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. 87 minutes into the game, Norway's Felix Josefsen nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lander Arrugueta made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. When the referee blew the final whistle, Norway could leave the field as winners, despite Colombia having more of the ball for most of the match.
