What's your stand on this debate?. I personally love the match experience at the local stadium but now the tickets are increased, food prices increased and the stewards kick out for the slightest thing like standing up,guesturing to the away fans ect.
thoughts?

i guess it depends how well the team is doing, and how healthy your pocket/wallet is, up here in middlesbrough, a few year back there was some scandinavian or arabic channel that was viewing all of the games, i dunno if they still do, your right tho, i supported middlesbrough from 1982 to 2000, and travelling to an away game with just a car full was becoming pricy back then, i suppose if the team are doing well, you can get caught on the wave and also you get a sense of loyalty, sometimes if you are having good times then it can be vfm, but i have also walked out at half time, my last away game was v chelsea in the fa cup final, as soon as we sat down, we were 1.0 down after 30 seconds, i decided on the train home it was a good time to call it a day, but later, i missed all of the european games under steve mcclaren, so hats off to anyone who can stick it out, but if you cant afford it, then the choice is easy, some of the half empty stadia these days look haunting, so it definately is an issue..
so any way, i sometimes think about going back , but , truth is its a bit too pricey, i just have all sky sports and ESPN now and am happy at home with tinnies, but when i was working shifts, i used to love calling to the pub after work to watch a game..

When I was in the UK went to a few games at Villa Park, being on exchange went with some of the other exchange students. Didn't like how I could overhear some of the locals (if you like) talking about how they hate people from country x or whatever.
One of the big things I hated was the constant standing up then sitting back down. I mean seriously, all standing up does is block the view for the person sitting behind you, so then they have to stand up. No benefit to it whatsoever.
Price I paid to get in everytime was 10 pounds, with the current exchange rate its about 15 pounds to see my local A-league team. I never grab anything to eat at the ground so can't comment on that though. Ofcourse, different economic environment I guess.
Stands is still better than pub imo for soccer. There are other sports where pub is better though...

I sometimes use the streaming to watch matches as I am a neutral. I am a lower league fan but I love the Premier League specially Mick McCarthy's Wolve as a relative knows Mick from when he uuse to play fo Man City. He is a brilliant human being but I do feel for him at the moment being pressured about the fans getting on his back.
