As Family Guy and South Park enter their 10th and 15 seasons respectfully, which one offends you the most?. I say South Park as I lovw Seth's style of comedy. I think isn't like south Park as most of the plots are just stupid for e.g:
The episode where Cartman [think that's his name]is convinced that he is dead but then he goes with Butters to do good deeds in order to go to heaven. Then nearly at the end of the episode where he helps the red cross they should have took him as a hostage as he is unharmed obivously.
So Family Guy is the more funnier but isn't realistic like South Park with news that has broken whilst the animators are thinking of new episodes like the BP oil spill or the Tiger Woods scandal.

That's actually one of my favourite South Park episodes... Not least thanks to the last lines where Cartman turns on Butters...
Also, I don't see "realistic" comes into it. Neither offends me.
But, if the question were the anticipated "Which do you prefer?", then it's South Park by a vast, vast margin. My reasoning being I find South Park about most prolifically and consistently funny thing that's ever been on TV (for me it's beats the Simpsons in terms of how long it's managed to sustain excellence). And that, in rather stark contrast, I regard Family Guy as... I don't have any regard for it. It's a footnote to a list of funny animation series, some way behind Ren & Stimpy, Beavis & Butthead, The Tick, Rocko's Modern Life, Duckman... pretty much everything. Except American Dad.

I think Family Guy is way more offensive (not to me, but I can see how the book burning, bible beaters lot would see it this way) and less funny than South Park.

see the episode which (SPOILER ALERT people)
the hurricane batters Quahog and Brian eats the mushrooms to go high which goes into this nightmareish place when he is high - unfreaking beliveable the animation has come leaps and bounds. I can't wait till Brian and Stewie travel back in time to the first episode later in THIS season.

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is a better show than both. It's not animated, but it has lots of hilariously awesome political incorrectness.

The new season of Family Guy should be offensive to anyone with a genuine and intelligent sense of humour. It is so repetative its completely boring. They should have given up a few seasons ago.
As for South Park ive no idea, i gave up on that a long time ago but i always liked the messages they put into the episodes.

@grinner, if the mood to try it again takes you, of recent series I'd say to check out...
"Margaritaville", which has some great moments like Stan putting his money in a bank and the decision-making process for financial bail-outs...
"Fatbeard", which takes cue from the Somali pirate incidents...
"Guitar Queer-O", "Cartman Sucks", "Poor And Stupid", "The China Probrem", "Medicinal Fried Chicken" and "Whale Whores" (certainly the end).
If you only go for one, maybe make it Medicinal Fried Chicken.

Yeah South Park's the top dog, although I like em both. Some of those episodes listed above are instant classics - any that revolve around Cartman often are :P
Another SP episode which is somewhat relevant to this thread is the one Cartman tries to get Family Guy pulled from the air :D ... If you havent seen it keep your eyes peeled for a showing. A great watch.

Do you think it's weird that Kenny hasn't died in a while since the first few season which was a classic bit. "Oh my god, they killed Kenny" "you sedited swearing" (if you can read backwards then you should know what the word is :p)
Edit - If you can read forum rules, you'd know that swearing, whether in full, implied or written backwards is against the rules. /MattEdited: 06-11-2011 03:50

I think that's something of an indicator of where it moved to another level. If you followed it, it became treated as an increasingly tiresome non-event, sometimes barely acknowledged. It does still happen mind you, just less frequently, more subtly, etc.

One thing I don't like are the MJ jokes on Family Guy. There are only so many times you can make fun of him. I think they have let it rest now [no pun intended]. I think most of the jokes they do are very funy about celebs are funny buy MJ, nope. I think there much worse then MJ not that he was a peado but Gary Glitter is and proably worse [not sure if he was or going to hand at time of print].

Classic Simpsons >> all. I'm talking about the first 10 seasons or so. The humor and satire were much more subtle and more cleverly written than Family Guy could ever hope to achieve.
