Mick McCarthy

As a admirer of Merlin the Magician (joked about it a press conference ), I think he doesn't deserve the abuse by the some sections of the Wolves faithful. I think most managers are doing worse job then MM. Steve Kean is doing a worse job than Mick and so did steve Bruce last season. So where are they now? yep still in their jobs apart from Steve Kean as he has not been in the job long. I think Mick has done a good job being manager and sometimes we get head of ourselves. We all know it's hard being manager (ss we are doing right now on MZ). I stand by MM to stop with the chanting and all that to let him do this job poperly instead of aggro.

Quite.

I think Mick McCarthy is a very reliable manager. The kind who will, with any low/modest club, make a good fight of avoiding relegation and, if relegation does happen, will be about the best person to have in charge when seeking an immediate return. A bit like a Sam Allardyce or how it used to be with Jim Smith at Derby or Peter Reid at Sunderland. The sort of situation where you don't sack the guy unless you're looking to overhaul the whole approach, say by also investing significant money in higher grade players. Or of course unless you could get a Martin O'Neill or Jose Mourinho type (the type who'll almost always get more out of whatever squad they take charge of).

Steve Bruce is a different case because he's been given pots of money and never really achieved anything much. He is, in this respect, rather like Bryan Robson was, and perhaps Roy Keane. Steve Kean is even more different because no evidence can be put forward to suggest he is anything other than an incompetent manager. Certainly out of his depth from all evidence so far. He is, in this respect, rather like Alan Ball or Avram Grant.

Do you think he will be still in the job if he can survive again or will he jumped before pushed?. I think he was and still is a good manager just didn't have enough cash when he was at Sunderland. He needs to prove to the Wolves faithful by doing it on the pitch but most fans are fickle and needs to win to survive.

I think he should be. If the fans keep making a fuss, sooner or later the board might just cave, but really unless the budget is going to increase for new players, what do Wolves and their fans expect the club to achieve? "Avoid relegation" seems about the size of it, and I'd keep faith in him to do that. (Also, if he doesn't manage that, like I said I'd think it best to stick with him anyway, at least for one season of trying to get promoted back.)

Mick is one of those underrated managers who still got potential who can keep Wolves up. Until they start to get thw performances he will be under pressure but he still loved and admired by me. I think Mick over takes me hero then Mourinho
