World Revolution begins ?

Badge image
So we now have anti greed/capitalism demonstrations in just about all major cities in the USA.....UK...Spain....Italy....Aust.....the list goes on and grows daily.

I personally have great sympathy with this cause. Capitalism has eaten itself through non regulation and absolute greed.

The top 1% have almost all the worlds wealth. The tipping point I believe is here. I have read many articles and watched this develop over the last 4 years with great interest.

Many credible commentators agree that the sovereign debt within each nation is a cul-de-sac to oblivion. Hyperinflation and massive social unrest approach at speed and cannot be stopped.

We are all looking down the barrel of an Apocolyptic Financial and Social meltdown.

There are only two ways out of this........a ONE WORLD ORDER with all debt written off..........or a MAJOR WAR.

Opinions please.......

nah , its always been like that, you know , slavery and the like, and all of those beautifull victorian mansions that are still as good now, they were built for the fat cat big time charlies of the day back then, whilst the underling peasants lived in back to back side to side squalor, this is just the age of electronic word of mouth, any way dont you think these demonstrations are a tad on the late side, they would have had more clout and effect when the meltdown came two yrs ago, i am not sure what has prompted this to go off now, but they do have a very good point , the working man is constantly being asked to dig deeper and his hand is close to touching the floor, it is amazing how bankers think it is absolutely fine to receive massive bonuses in todays current climate, i feel there is probably a lot more to be uncovered in the wake of expenses fiddling etc, tax evasion, i think that the lobbying will force governments to realise that folk are wising up to all of the blatant and underhanded profiteering, they always make me laugh when they say, we are all in the same boat, that may be true, but there are some in first class luxury on the upper deck and some chained to the lower deck as galley slaves.
nothing has changed in the last 350 yrs..
i dunno what they are getting so worked up over..
the world is gonna end on the 12/12/12 at 12 am or pm
or the 21/12/12 at 21.12 pm
or the 21/12/21 at precisely the same time as above..
no need for any mass hysteria threads and attempts to create the end is nigh hysteria on MZ..

I'd like to get caught up in the spirit but I think we'll just see suppression, both subtle and overt, and the protests will fade. Our legal system and instruments of both propaganda (i.e. media) and enforcement (e.g. police) are all based on capitalism and most directly controlled by figures and companies who grow fat thanks to capitalism.

I think most people are still more of a mind to keep their heads down and not jeopardize their jobs and/or benefits by getting involved. And a number of those who are involved are only there to see what trouble they can cause or because they're career protestors, with the actual issue somewhat secondary.

I don't like to say it, I'm an avowed fan of Wat Tyler, but I think the wave will crash sooner or later and the tide roll back. Any success they do have, the authorities will "learn from it" and be in a position to prevent in future. If protest groups are really organized, someone from amongst the intelligence agencies will have them infiltrated and head off anything with real potential.

Pah.

its also possible the world could end on the 11/11/11 @ 11.11 hrs
or the 1/11/11 @ 11.01 or 01.11
the 10/10/10 @ 10.10 was a false alert, but we did do a fire drill ..

it's almost a Corporatist's dream. All the employees work hard to keep their corporation nations well funded so that the supply routes and resources can be upkept and protected, and in return the corporations do just enough to keep the labor supply healthy and hypnotized enough to work and buy that useless junk. AKA Syndicate by UK's own Bullfrog...

Capitalism would allow a man to own his property, and would not intentionally inflate prices so that his savings was irrelevant and he had to work more.

How's that working out in the UK? Any place in the world you can own your house and not pay land-taxes and watch your savings buying power shrink, even as the number of pounds increases?

oh and heddo, man made numbers don't rule the galaxy. We seem to have applied our limited understanding of counting, and how to do this (based on our limited phalanges), to phenomenon that appears to have no inherent understanding.

For all we know (nothing) the number "42" is actually more appropriately written as "R," and October 16 is actually the 145th day in the 2nd month of a 2 month year.

Wait, what is a year?

Should we concern ourselves with exact placement to the other planets, and is a year actually the time in which it takes us to return to the same point in relation to the sun and the paths of the other planets? This could take 10's of thousands of human years... Point is, don't get caught up in the valuation of your human demarcation to the universe or you will get confused and waste alot of time.

hmmm.. perhaps there is a lesson in this about currency and savings... thanks heddo!

well for your information , i am currently sat on my floor stitching together a teepee, then i am off to canada to form my own cult, and bleat off a similar type of drivel as your patter, but i will refrain from letting my followers know i have investments in property , equities, protected by a wall of cash, when the inflation rate goes down and the value of property rises and also the rate of interest goes up. taking the value of banking stocks up with them too, i will awake in the night and abandon the cult, and head back to blighty and join my fellow yuppee cultists at a downtown wine bar..
hoorah to/for the upturn..
kerchink...

glad I could inspire someone in this life. I suggest a little wine called liebestropfen. If you can find it, it really is bliss...

Also, Kraft and Kellogg are set to rise for the upcoming US holidays, while Energizer Holdings will likely lose some market share this month, as Hawaiian Tropic sales plummet for winter.

Really, go find "Syndicate" if you haven't already seen that game. I wonder if there is a flash version yet...oh heck... EA owns the rights and is set to release in November... I hate EA, and I am sorry that I suggested that game. Poor Bullfrog...

Make sure you take your napkin as you travel. If you dribble with my drivel on your diminutive epidermis, you may drive away your dreams of devilish debauchery as a demonstrative, yet diabolically dictatorial, dilettante.

Did you believe the world was built by those who gamble? Why the hell would you gamble for your world? Las Vegas is not the only gambling legal state in the Union, nor is it new in the world. Lloyd's had that down, in spades, 100 years before the US even existed.

whinnsy just wants an all out war and then a new world order, the third way out is for economic climates to recover, the true power of democracy/people power to start to shine, corruption and greed stamped out , world economies managed better, mistakes learnt from, and a pint of guinness reduced from 3.15 per pint to 1.80 per pint and a freeze on the price till
21/12/21 @ 21.12 hrs..

So, essentially, I think you're saying whinnsy is right?

I say we channel all of our debt-repayment plans into 3 international space stations, a multi-national mission to create 3 lunar launching facilities for future colonization, and as hubs for moon colonization, and finish plans for that international Mars colony.

I think we can find enough materials in space to repay the earth with the lost elements (literal earth, not people. Weight and balance in space, even on a rock this big, is far more important than human checkbooks), as well as with technological, foodstock, and medicinal advancements. There would be some initial loss of Calcium and H20 from the humans, and lots of other metals and elements from whatever we use to make our initial crafts and fuels, but within a few decades that could easily be repaid.

Demonstrations in Australia ?

Since when ?

We're still riding on the back of China...And should China go "offline" we got India coming "online"....perhaps Indonesia after that (or some other super populated asian country in need of our resources). We actually had one of the better, if not best, regulated banking industry and so are in no-where near the amount of trouble other countries are in.

I've always found modern culture rather ironic how villians can be treated like heros, being bad is good (and being good is bad), that governments elected by all the people of a country are more evil than a business whose head is probably elected by afew investors etc.

You can critisize people getting high bonuses all you like, but without those bonuses I doubt very many people would take on those roles. If you give them a higher salary and less bonuses they will care about the company even less then they do already.

What's the alternative anyway ? Communism ? That's even worse (giving the people at the top even more power).

I would take the reigns of any fortune 500 you offer. I will immediately cut expenses and increase the dividend for the next 2 years, even while increasing productivity and market-share. Within 5 years we will be the premier industry leader. Within 10 we will be sued, twice, for anti-trust, as we absorb and outdate our opposition.

Upon completion of our second anti-trust suit, I will step down with a requirement of $2 million in severance, $83k of stock, and a permanent voting place on the board of directors, which is extremely minimal considering my value.
