Would you buy an MZ-mug?

Badge image
Hello Everyone,

I'd like to ask your opinion about the mug related to MZ. I have already ordered a couple of pieces as prototypes.

Do you think this is something you would like to buy?
If so: what would be a no-brainer price in your opinion, just to make it a quick buy?
Any suggestions with regards to design?

I am super grateful for every single answer!

Regards,
Marcin

Darkline, I don't think the ball with a green circle around is really a TM. Unless I'm wrong :- )

I meant if you want to use the logo of MZ or the name of MZ or promote or advertise it, if you want to sell a mug with a ball with a green circle around it that's safe.

I'm not trying to discourage you, I'm just telling you all this to save you time & money, managerzone don't sell merchandising but don't want anyone else to do it, I remember the user mosmosmos made some t-shirts a long while ago and crew made a big issue out of it.

Sounds very clear, thank you for the explanation. I would not dare to use any official logos or MZ name. But indeed, better safe than sorry.

Thanks darkline!

Sincerely? I doubt there is anyone from the Stillfront Group, where Managerzone is a dwarf game, concerned about game branding... over 6 years ago perhaps, but today? I heard that the game has already crossed the revenue x expenses line, and should either close its activities soon, or be negotiated.

They could (and should IMO) look for opportunities to gain subscriptions by offering data tools. I hope they will not close!

I don't think they would be concerned, but they wouldn't allow it. As for closing activities it is a low mantenaince game and they could cut personnel they don't really need, won't name them but I know a few.... one thing though, this new payment processor they got might be less costly but it turned out to be a dissaster, people in Argentina can't pay, people in other Countries get asked for photo of their passport & credit card and while I read crew can help pass those verifications, truth be told most people don't know it and as soon as they get asked for ridiculous documentations to buy some tokens they just quit.... so I think that might be the last nail on the coffin unless they sort it out really soon, as in they should replace this payment processor today.

Is there anything we could do to support?

Hi Dark.. unlike what my Federation companion said above, Managerzone no longer belongs to the Stillfront Group. I sent an email to the Stillfront Group, with interest in acquiring the game - as I agree with rodr1go that perhaps the game will close its activities and I agree with you that the management has been very disastrous recently - and I was surprised to learn that, without having communicated to anyone (and without anyone having commented on any forum either, that I know of) the game was "resold" to its "founders" - reading the Stillfront Group report from 2023, the price was 1M SEK, that is, less than 100 thousand dollars.

The game is now owned by Crew, and Peter is the CEO.

The statement made that the game would probably have stopped being profitable seems to be correct, as the sales value was very low, and they sold it to the very employees who made the game reach its current state. In other words, the Stillfront Group just exempted itself from having to deal with the closure of the game's activities, and delivered it practically for free to the group of people responsible (perhaps not entirely, as they were only employees until October) for the game's poor management. .

The senseless measures taken by the team in recent months are the result of a change in management. In other words, before they didn't do anything in the game because it wasn't in the Stillfront Group's interest. Now, with the authority to make changes, they make bad or useless changes - and, even given the scenario the game is in, which in fact may be approaching closure, the new owners, who have an account here in the game, haven't even communicated the change in management.

Here is the email I received from Stillfront Group:

Hi Pedro,

Thank you for your email.

As of October 2023, the studio Power Challenge and its game Managerzone is no longer part of Stillfront Group. The studio was sold back to its founders and the game continues to be operated by the Power Challenge team. For further information, please reach out to the Power Challenge team directly.

Wish you all the best,
Ludvig

It's a shame I arrived a few months too late to make an offer to purchase the game. Although the Crew members, perhaps because they sold the game to the Stillfront Group over 10 years ago, clearly do not believe in the growth of Managerzone and probably only bought it to pay their own salaries for another few months or two or so 3 years...

I had prepared a long project, with the help of several managers from all over the world, reorganization of positions, salaries, investment in marketing, we even got into the details such as, for example, creating a "worldwide" The Zone, with editors from different countries, and with themes focused solely on issues such as tactics, skills, training, transfer market, management tips, that is, without that coverage (which would continue in The Zones of each country) regarding competitions. I even talked to some people about being writers for The Zone. mayya2 agreed, for example. Well, we can still do that. The idea is to have several writers from different countries, who would write their texts in English, and later, .pdf files would be published in Whatsapp groups and also on forums, with the version of The Zone in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Greek, Italian and other languages for which I could find collaborators - I managed them for those mentioned hahaha

Anyway, I cite the case of the "worldwide" The Zone as an example, because it's something I can still do. To avoid misuse of the Managerzone brand, I may publish as my Klan Federation magazine. Being a Federation publication, there would be no problems using data about Managerzone.

In addition to this issue of The Zone, I had a robust set of projects, including solutions to the issue of payments in Argentina, which I developed together with gordola.

It also had, among other plans, the launch of a perennial beta testing platform for the development of the simulator to be launched the following year - the decision on which changes to implement would be made by a management council with users from all over the world, including influential managers. , experienced, Presidents of large federations, etc. (even, at the suggestion of more than one person, including Vlad from Greece, you would be part of this council).

I even inquired about the amount to be paid to a developer who would work on this issue for the new simulator. There would be two developers in the game who would work permanently: one, in fact, the only real developer, who would be responsible for analyzing the reported bugs, as well as taking care of the simulator's beta tests and another, who would actually be a web designer, who would carry out daily activities on the site. In addition, there would be seasonal hiring of developers for specific projects. Moving the game's headquarters from Sweden to Brazil would have the advantage of facilitating work with Argentines and Brazilians, which would reduce costs.

Today, Managerzone's serious problem is that it is "supported" by currencies with an unfavorable exchange rate and its owners are people who live in one of the richest countries in the world, which is Sweden.

It is very complicated to earn in Argentine pesos and spend in euros.

Honestly, if I knew the game was up for sale I would have made an offer, I'm confident I could turn this game into a profitable venture and would happily have invested money into it.

I already knew Peter was the CEO and about stillfront, didn't know it was sold for just $100K but I think the game is still profitable, I would guess profit is declining and if I were Stillfront and didn't have any faith in the potential of the game, selling it would make perfect sense.

I'm sorry for Peter (thunderexpress) because he's a nice guy, he has good intentions but unfortunately I don't think he really understand the game or the community, on many levels he's trying to give people what they want instead of giving them what they need.

Now the issue with the new payment processor is just horrible, I mean I live in England and I can get the equivalent of $20.000 USD loan without moving my ass from my seat just by telling the lender a bit about myself, just normal stuff and in 1 minute they check my credit, approve the loan & send me the paperwork, long story short a few years back I took a low interest loan to invest in Vanguard S&P 500 and that was pretty much all I did.... now if someone in England wants to buy a few tokens they might be asked to send a copy of their passport & a photo of their credit card? Is just mindblowing and that's something I would never do just to play a game... and I would guess this sort of issue is worldwide and Argentina has it worse as most credit/debit cards are declined automatically by this guys, like I said is mindblowing.

I realized that Managerzone was for sale, and I created, with the help of many great managers, a management idea with serious people from the community, as I realized that the Crew had simply disappeared from the game in 2022 and 2023 (they came back, and only a few 2 or 3, now). And some of the "Crew" are just former MZ employees... like Robert, who was a big loss for the game (as a member of the Crew, because as a manager he continues). Anyway, that's not me saying, all Stillfront Group reports since 2018 already pointed to not investing in game development and not investing in marketing. It was a matter of time before the game's revenue became completely irrelevant to the group (only 0.1% when it was sold).

About Peter, I agree that he is a fantastic person, as far as I know him. However, I also agree that he doesn't know the game as well as the community, and will face problems in this regard. Maybe it would be a good idea for him to establish a Management Council at Managerzone, to make decisions, I don't know. At least that's what I would do in his place. There are issues that, even for people who have been here since the beginning of the 2000s, are difficult to decide on alone, such as: changing the simulator. We know how controversial it is. The ideal way to do it - and of course it should be done haha - is with the support of the community, through beta testing, etc.

We need to understand that we are an extremely mature community. I've been playing for over 20 years... I've been with MZ longer than many of the Crew hahaha And most of the managers have been playing for over 10 years, that is, they've seen a lot of things here, things that went right and things that went wrong. Anyway, without having management aligned with the community in a "formal" way, as much as I believe Peter is a good person, it would tend to be bad management.
