USA U-18 National Cup – Season 41 Update by tree_amigos (RA)

Before I get into the upcoming (recently played) U-18 Final matches, I would like to congratulate the top four teams from the U-23 National Cup. River Plate DB (rivercampion) won the Cup. AC Fort Lauderdale (acf69) cam in second and took home the golden boot with top scorer Jacques Sheehan netting 36 goals. He’s a US product, so hopefully he can work his way onto the National Team. Third place went to Montesa de Lugo (julioabril). And closing out the top four was Real Salt Lake (sorry I don’t know how to get the stars) (pulginh0).

The final matches of the U-18 cup are (were) on March 10. This article will be published after the matches, so I will refrain from making predictions on the winners as I’d hate to look a fool this early in my RA career.

The Final will be contested by SPORTIVO MUNICIPAL and River Plate DB. River Plate DB, who won the U-23 National Cup and are still alive in the quarter finals of the Senior National Cup, pulled out a 2-1 win over Los Angeles Cruzeiro in overtime. They will be without midfielder Clay Mosler who had an average, but not great game in the semis. They do have available the top scorer in the competition, Graham Jarrett with 21 goals so far. SPORTIVO MUNICIPAL, who advanced on a 3-1 win over North Conway FC U-21, will be without midfielder Santos Christensen who had a pretty good game in the semis. They also have a striker in the top ten with Kasey Bullock sitting in the number 9 spot with 10 goals in the competition.

Contesting for third place are North Conway FC U-21 and Los Angeles Cruzeiro. This match could be a challenge for North Conway FC U-21 as they are without both staring central defenders due to yellow cards earned late in the match against SPORTIVO MUNICIPAL. They are also up against the number two striker in the competition, Dale Webster who has 20 goals for Los Angeles Cruzeiro.
