A collision led to U21 Austria getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Peter Deckert hit a great ball. Miloslav Duba charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Miloslav Duba the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 20th minute, Miloslav Duba hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nico-Pascal Heilek in the 22nd minute of play forced U21 Czech Republic's goalkeeper Libor Mudroch to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to U21 Austria getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Christian Böhringer hit a great ball. In the 41st minute, Zdeněk Rakaš made a precise shot to the right of Ralf Beckers. U21 Austria's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Ralf Beckers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Květoslav Kališ in the 45th minute of play. Timo Hampen kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. 48 minutes into the match, U21 Czech Republic's Jiří Matějů sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ralf Beckers narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After the first half U21 Czech Republic were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

U21 Austria's Dustin Mudra was substituted for Jonas Knabel. A collision led to U21 Czech Republic getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Zdeněk Rakaš hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Vlastimil Lysák managed to get in a good position for a shot. U21 Czech Republic's supporters rose to their feet, but Vlastimil Lysák was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ralf Beckers breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 67th minute, Dustin Mudra ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Libor Mudroch was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. The crowd rose to their feet as Zdeněk Rakaš kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ralf Beckers. That made the score 1-3 in the 71 minute of play. 77 minutes into the match, U21 Austria's Dustin Mudra sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Libor Mudroch narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 81st minute, U21 Czech Republic's Květoslav Kališ ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ralf Beckers. Ralf Beckers yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-4. U21 Czech Republic's Jaroslav Klouček was substituted for Jiří Matějů. Dustin Mudra blasted a shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Libor Mudroch having to make a save. Christian Böhringer was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 90 minutes into the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in U21 Austria fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 89th minute. Penalty! The score was 1-5 after a penalty in the 91st minute, where U21 Czech Republic:s Iker Fabregas tricked U21 Austria:s Ralf Beckers with a difficult ball by the left post. When the match was over U21 Czech Republic could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than U21 Austria throughout the match.
