When the match had gone on for 9 minutes, Thodoris Tikellis took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Tomas Brandt to make any attempt to save it. With his leg Tomas Brandt managed to avoid a goal in the 12thth minute, when Zjem Cię's Czeslaw Pawlak fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Luis Miguel took the ball and in the 13 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Napoleon Jajko. Napoleon Jajko dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frederik Orejo in the 16th minute of play forced Zjem Cię's goalkeeper Napoleon Jajko to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thodoris Tikellis came free with the goalkeeper in the 27th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Tomas Brandt could save by the left post. Cyprian Cwojdak hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Zjem Cię's Napoleon Jajko played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Puch in the 30th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Alianza Trujillo's Carlos Marchena got a free kick in the 36th minute. After 43 played minutes Zjem Cię got a freekick which was hit by Thodoris Tikellis. After 44 played minutes, Alianza Trujillo's Jan Czempa shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Napoleon Jajko came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Alianza Trujillo reached it. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell José Puch to make the kick off. Tomas Brandt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zenon Roman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 59 minutes into the match, Zjem Cię's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Miguel came free, but Napoleon Jajko reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luis Miguel received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Napoleon Jajko came out and tried to block the shot, but Luis Miguel slotted it home off the left post making it 2-2 in the 61st minute. In the 66th minute, Tolek Wojtyna hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 69th minute Thodoris Tikellis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomas Brandt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tomas Brandt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thodoris Tikellis, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. In the 74th minute Mateo Palacio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomas Brandt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zjem Cię were awarded a corner in the 75th minute after Alianza Trujillo's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. After 87 minutes, Murillo Cedeno mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Zjem Cię and the Alianza Trujillo players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 87 played minutes Zjem Cię got a freekick which was hit by Murillo Cedeno. Czeslaw Pawlak fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomas Brandt having to interfere.
