Julian Chazon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tyron Velasquez, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. After a rather tough play, Stawiszcze's Sylwester Nikodemski got a free kick in the 19th minute. In the 19th match minute, Stawiszcze was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sylwester Glembin to maneuver through the defense. Lanny Gilmore in the 22ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Lanny Gilmore came free with the goalkeeper in the 29th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Julian Chazon could save by the left post. With a little luck, Stawiszcze's Julian Chazon got control of the ball when Lanny Gilmore tried to sneak it across the goal line. Lanny Gilmore received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Julian Chazon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Santos FC's zone, Carel Demeulemeester stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aaron Smallwood came out of the goal and Carel Demeulemeester tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the Santos FC defense, Carel Demeulemeester kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Aaron Smallwood. The Santos FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aaron Smallwood should have stopped the shot. In the 47th minute Tyron Velasquez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julian Chazon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The audience was convinced that Tyron Velasquez's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julian Chazon was relentless in the 54th minute of the game. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lanny Gilmore in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julian Chazon prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Santos FC's Terence Nicholas was substituted for Tyron Velasquez. In the 81st minute Terence Nicholas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julian Chazon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 82 minutes into the match, Stawiszcze's Teofil Dresik sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Aaron Smallwood narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Wladyslaw Karaszkiewicz fell near the penalty area in the 84th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Stawiszcze's protests and gave Wladyslaw Karaszkiewicz a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Stawiszcze booed when Santos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lanny Gilmore didn't get a good kick on the ball. Stawiszcze's Wladyslaw Karaszkiewicz got his second yellow card of the match in the 87th minute. The referee ordered Wladyslaw Karaszkiewicz off the ground. A collision led to Stawiszcze getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Wladyslaw Karaszkiewicz hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sylwester Nikodemski in the 104th minute of play forced Santos FC's goalkeeper Aaron Smallwood to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julian Chazon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Terence Nicholas in the 106th minute of the match. In the 108th minute of the match Stawiszcze got a corner. Santos FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Zachariasz Czaplicki ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Zachariasz Czaplicki got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Aaron Smallwood quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Santos FC's Tory Weeks quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Titus Kohler kicked well hit freekick during the 114th minute of the match. The Santos FC players wondered just what they needed to do win this one. 105 minutes had now been played and the teams were still tied. Penalties were starting to look likely.

The players still looked rather fresh even though it was time for second half of the overtime. Lanny Gilmore did a quick kick off. Teofil Dresik in the 121stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Aaron Smallwood, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 127 minutes into the match, Santos FC's goalkeeper Aaron Smallwood had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Teofil Puzio. Julian Chazon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tory Weeks, who was totally free with the ball in the 132nd minute. Neither team seemed willing to take risks during extra-time and the defenses won out. The match would now go to a penalty shoot-out.

Julian Chazon had in the 134thth minute some difficulties stopping Lanny Gilmore's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After 136 played minutes Teofil Dresik shot from long distance. At first the shot seemed to be simple for Santos FC's Aaron Smallwood to catch but Teofil Dresik was lucky. It became 2-2 after the goalkeeper had been careless and dropped the ball into goal. Santos FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Stawiszcze for a fine match.
