Estrellas de Caballito's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Padrón 1744 the free kick. After a defensive mix-up in Estrellas de Caballito's zone, Amado Emmanuel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jaime Venceslao came out of the goal and Amado Emmanuel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 9th minute Jeronimo Bento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lino Ganix saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lino Ganix came out of the goal in the 10th minute to try and stop a shot by Estrellas de Caballito's Matias Montrelle. But to his dismay, Matias Montrelle quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 12th minute Matias Montrelle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lino Ganix saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Matias Montrelle in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lino Ganix saved Padrón 1744 from getting behind. In the 16th minute of the match, Amado Emmanuel got a very nice opportunity to score, but Jaime Venceslao was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Thanks to some nice moves Amado Emmanuel could shoot a difficult shot in the 18th minute, which Jaime Venceslao however easily saved by the left post. In the 20th minute Anselmo Pitin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lino Ganix saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Cornelio Maraman managed to get in a good position for a shot. Padrón 1744's supporters rose to their feet, but Cornelio Maraman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jaime Venceslao breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jaime Venceslao made an important save on a dangerous shot by Apolo Foro in the 29th minute. Miguel Victoro kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. Anselmo Pitin hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. After 36 played minutes Estrellas de Caballito got a freekick which was hit by Ciriaco Eneko. If Claudio Jaen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, Estrellas de Caballito's Ciriaco Afonso got a free kick in the 43rd minute. In the 45th minute, Jeronimo Bento hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Matias Montrelle stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Padrón 1744's Angelino Remigio got a free kick in the 51st minute. Anselmo Pitin struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Lino Ganix didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Estrellas de Caballito. 0-2 became the score in the 54th minute when Matias Montrelle elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Claudio Jaen kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Ciriaco Afonso charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ciriaco Afonso the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 62nd minute, Ciriaco Afonso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jaime Venceslao made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claudio Jaen in the 63rd minute of play. Lino Ganix made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matias Montrelle in the 66th minute of play. When Estrellas de Caballito's Matias Montrelle in the 66th minute got a chance for a shot 66th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Padrón 1744's goalie prevented a goal. In the 69th minute of the match Estrellas de Caballito got a corner. Padrón 1744's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Anselmo Pitin ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Anselmo Pitin got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Lino Ganix quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Jaime Venceslao took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claudio Jaen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jaime Venceslao stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Claudio Jaen's shot from short distance in the 72nd minute. Anselmo Pitin took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 83rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Lino Ganix. Padrón 1744's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After having played for 84 minutes, Claudio Jaen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Padrón 1744's supporters crossed their fingers, but Claudio Jaen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Estrellas de Caballito supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Estrellas de Caballito would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
