The supporters of FC Steaua Pildesti booed when Westbam was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juliusz Gorzkiewicz didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to FC Steaua Pildesti getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Moise Chesaru hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Olgierd Deput in the 31st minute of play forced FC Steaua Pildesti's goalkeeper Octavian Bogdănescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 39 minutes, Traian Roşu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Steaua Pildesti's supporters crossed their fingers, but Traian Roşu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
