After some careless play in the Homegrown defense, Thierry Henry kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Geale Scheper. The Homegrown fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Geale Scheper should have stopped the shot. In the 13th minute Dirk Enting shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zé Carlos Britto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dirk Enting during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The crowd rose to their feet as Ferenc Puskás kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Geale Scheper. That made the score 2-0 in the 18 minute of play. The audience was convinced that Melvin Jurjens's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zé Carlos Britto was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. In the 24th minute, Thierry Henry reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Geale Scheper. The goal made the score 3-0. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ferenc Puskás stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Geale Scheper showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thierry Henry in the 52nd minute of the match. Marcel Wagenaar struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Zé Carlos Britto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Homegrown. After 67 minutes, Thierry Henry mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pragmáticos 1903 and the Homegrown players grew even worse after the yellow card.
